Multidisciplinary fashion designer Marlon Ferry celebrates the launch of his own atelier in the form of his first solo show at Berlin Fashion Week in June 2024. The collection is a seamless fusion of technological innovation and artisanal expertise. It consists of carefully handcrafted individual pieces created with precision and attention to detail in his Berlin atelier.
Inspired by current events and innovations, Marlon Ferry explored the contrast between modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and 3D printing and traditional craft techniques as part of his master’s thesis. Influenced by the boom in economic sectors such as crypto, stocks and start-ups, he created dazzling chrome sculptures combined with a garish color palette that captured the euphoria and belief in progress of the time. Later, his focus shifted to the sociological and conceptual aspects of the human-machine relationship and what constitutes human creativity when technology with AI can mimic these abilities and act autonomously. This led him to focus more on traditional couture techniques, such as the elaborate pleating of high-quality fabrics. The 3D sculptures were also no longer just painted, but combined with other materials in order to once again give more importance to craftsmanship and surpass the work of the machine. His first fully comprehensive collection is the intersection of these two achievements.

“With my first collection, I wanted to continue the narrative of the convergence of the natural and the artificial. In doing so, I was not only able to refine my characteristic techniques, but also to supplement them with new, exciting methods. This resulted in extraordinary material compositions and surreal silhouettes created through the fusion of technology and craft. I am delighted to present my experimental works for the first time in the form of a solo runway show.” – Marlon Ferry, Design
The young designer pursues an innovative approach to design that has already earned him international attention and recognition. After an internship at Iris van Herpen’s renowned studio in Amsterdam and completing his master’s degree in fashion design, he has spent the last two years presenting his innovative designs in the up-and-coming format Neo.Fashion for young and aspiring designers in Germany. Shortly afterwards, he founded his own studio, whose creative achievements were presented at the Bulgari Studio opening in Korea, among others, and are admired and supported by artists such as Grimes, Anyma and Sevdaliza.
The debut promises to be a pivotal moment, heralding the next chapter in Marlon Ferry’s journey and the development of his atelier.
