Review: SITUATIONIST Paris Fashion Week FW25 Collection – A Statement of Resilience

There’s something profoundly moving about witnessing a brand that refuses to retreat in challenging times. As I sat watching SITUATIONIST’s FW25 collection unfold before me, I couldn’t help but feel the palpable sense of determination that permeated every aspect of the show.

In an era marked by political instability and uncertainty, the SITUATIONIST collective has chosen to push forward rather than step back. The result is a collection that speaks volumes about resilience – a refined vision that honors both their heritage and their future trajectory.

What struck me most was how seamlessly they’ve managed to reimagine their most iconic pieces while introducing bold new shapes and intricate patterns. The textural journey throughout the collection was particularly noteworthy – structured leather pieces commanded attention alongside impossibly soft cashmere and wool garments. The fluid cottons and refined knitwear added layers of complexity to each look, while the faux fur coats provided not just warmth but a sense of strength and protection.

A Palette of Contrasts

The color story moved through compelling contrasts that felt both timely and timeless. Deep reds evoked passion and determination, while baby blues offered moments of calm reflection. The rich neutral tones that anchored many looks provided a sophisticated foundation that allowed the more vibrant elements to truly shine.

The accessories deserved their own spotlight. Leather footwear featured sharp, commanding heels that echoed the collection’s refusal to back down. The sculptural leather bags were functional art pieces in their own right, and the statement jewelry injected personality and edge to each carefully composed ensemble.

A Cast of Characters

Perhaps what elevated the show beyond mere fashion was the casting. By blending professional models with friends and family who have shaped SITUATIONIST’s journey, the presentation took on a personal, raw energy that felt authentic and grounded. These weren’t just clothes on bodies – they were expressions of identity worn by individuals with genuine connections to the brand.

The creative direction by the Situationist Collective, with Irakli Rusadze as Head of Design, demonstrated a clear vision. Dogi’s casting, consulting, and styling choices enhanced the narrative, while Davit Giorgadze’s art and image direction created a cohesive visual story. The beauty elements – makeup by Yadim Carranza and hair by Dushan Petrovich – completed each look with thoughtful precision.

Presented as part of the ANDAM x RUN initiative, this collection stands as a testament to persistence, creativity, and the power of fashion as a statement against being defined by external forces. In uncertain times, SITUATIONIST doesn’t just stand firm – they create with even greater conviction.

And that, perhaps, is the most inspiring takeaway from this remarkable presentation.
