Sonney Presents Its Collection at Zurich Fashion Week

Born in the Jura, Lora Sonney chose Switzerland to pursue her studies at the HEAD in Geneva. With great emotion, she returns on the occasion of Mode Suisse to present her eponymous brand and unveil her new silhouettes.

Her label stands out for its bold approach to material innovation, transforming recycled gardening objects into refined and unexpected accessories and clothes. This creative process not only breathes new life into existing resources but also allows her to develop exclusive prints, forging a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity.

With a deep commitment to responsible and local production, all developments and manufacturing take place in France, Portugal, or Italy—ensuring uncompromising quality while supporting scalability. Guided by a “less but better” philosophy, Sonney produces high-end, thoughtfully crafted pieces that seamlessly merge aesthetics with purpose. By reimagining materials, Lora Sonney demonstrates that sustainability and desirability can truly coexist.

This unique vision, blending creativity with responsibility, earned her the IFM x AMI Entrepreneurship Prize in 2024, a testament to the strength and originality of her approach.

Sonney

Lora Sonney is a designer with a bold and singular approach to material experimentation. She redefines the codes of luxury by transforming everyday objects into refined creations, giving them a second life through unexpected textures and innovative processes.

A graduate of HEAD, Genève’s Haute École d’Art et de Design, where she received the Master Prize in 2021, Lora honed her expertise at Marine Serre and Celine before joining the prestigious Swiss embroidery house Jakob Schlaepfer. There, she deepened her passion for textiles and material innovation, developing a distinctive creative language.

Her talent was quickly recognized: a finalist at the Hyères International Festival of Fashion in 2022, she went on to collaborate with AZ Factory on a capsule collection unveiled during Paris Haute Couture Week in 2023.

Today, Lora launches her eponymous brand, built around a strong and immersive universe. Drawing inspiration from the forest landscapes of the Jura where she grew up, she designs a complete wardrobe of clothing and accessories colorful, optimistic, and fluid, blending utilitarian influences with poetic silhouettes. By transforming ordinary objects into innovative materials and creating unique patterns, she shapes a visual world that is at once strange, authentic, and instantly recognizable.
