Paraiso Miami Beach Brought Runway Shows, Presentations, Experiences and More

Paraiso Miami Beach officially took over what was known as Miami Swim Week for over a decade. Over 40+ runway shows, activations, designer culinary experiences by top brands in swimwear were presented this weekend in Miami Beach. The Paraiso Bungalow, a consumer-driven pop-up double decker overlooking the beach had visitors and residents of Miami Beach shopping collections from Chopard, Olivela, Tropic of C, Aloha Collection among other brands; Chef Brad Kilgore ran the second floor, four-day pop up restaurant hosting culinary experiences for brands such as, Monday Swimwear, Iorane, Olivela, Chopard and Sinesia Karol.

Paraiso Miami Beach invited consumers to The Paraiso Bungalow, where attendees shopped collections, accessories and jewelry while meeting designers behind some of the industries most reputable brands. Candice Swanepoel hosted a meet-and-greet for her sustainable swimwear brand, Tropic of C, while the founders of Monday Swimwear, Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman, hosted a brunch for an international guest list of editors and influencers with clean beauty brand, Dr Roebucks.

The luxury shopping destination, Olivela, brought brands like Johnathan Simkai, Lem Lem, Mercedes Salazar, Lapima, Oribe to consumers who shopped the floor; 20% of every sales transaction went to local, non-profit partner, Perez Art Museum Miami. The lounge inside The Paraiso Bungalow was made cozy by Spanish furniture designer, Gandiablasco,and its Miami distributor, Clima, with an array of stylish and modern indoor and outdoor furniture pieces. Luxury, fine jewelry brand, Chopardbrought its Happy Hearts collection featuring necklaces, bracelets, rings; complete with accessory customization and a dessert cart throughout the four days. Rosé brand Day Owl served its west coast-made, vibrant rosé to all guests of the Bungalow.

Designers that showed their Resort 2020 collections at Paraiso Miami Beach included Acacia, Aguaclara, Agua Bendita, Badgley Mischka, Becca Swim, Cia Maritima, Luli Fama, Maaji, Monday Swimwear, Monica Hansen, Poema, Sinesia Karol, Simonett, TJ Swim, Wildfox and many others. In the lounge of Paraiso’s main runway tent, eyewear company, Foster Grant celebrated its 90th anniversary in style with an interactive photo booth for industry attendees, while JNSQ Wines served its balanced and refreshing Rosé Cru and Sauvignon Blanc to all guests at Paraiso, alongside a rosé worthy, Instagramable moment.

Throughout the weekend, Paraiso Miami Beach guests mingled between beauty and personal care activations and fun pool parties with brands like Izipizi,the Parisian eyewear brand and Sunny Life, the Australian pool float brand, whichhosted a color-filled pool party at the iconic 1940’s hotel, The Plymouth South Beach – complete with synchronized swimmers, the Aqualillies. Meanwhile at The Lennox Hotel, Yanbal hosted its own pool party at the brand new hotel with an assortment of its beauty products. Simonett also hosted a dreamy, monochromatic presentation at The Lennox Hotel highlighting its latest collection.

Putting its stamp of approval on the topic of sustainability, Paraiso Miami Beach joined forces with The Upcycle Project to develop the Paraiso Upcycle Challenge, a national, student-designer competition developed to give use to deadstock fabrics and textiles from reputable swimwear brands. Designers including, Vitamin A, Cynthia Rowley, Volcom, Maaji and L*Spacementored student designers through the design process, bringing their looks to Paraiso Miami Beach. An industry jury chose the winning contestant, Hannah Myers from the Fashion Institute of Technology NYC. Founder of The Upcycle Project, Gabriella Smith, hosted the event and helped the students throughout the entire design process.

Off-site venues housing Paraiso Miami Beach events include The Setai Miami Beach, The Plymouth Hotel, The W South Beach and Lincoln 1111. The newest addition to Miami Beach, The Lennox Hotel opened its doors to its stunning property, just in time for Paraiso welcoming and housing many of the flown in attendees of the four day festival, kicking off with an opening party of over 500 attendees that enjoyed delectable bites, open bar and live music and acrobatic performances throughout the evening.

On another note, for the first time ever, attendees crossed the bridge to a Paraiso-satellite space at Brickell City Centre where renowned brand, Maaji, showed its Resort 2020 collection to an audience of industry influencers and editors, while residents, shoppers, and visitors of Miami joined the show at it’s first ever, streetside runway. Brickell City Centre also activated wellness mornings and other special events to enhance the shopping experience for guests..

In front of the Paraiso Bungalow, stretched across Collins Park, destination: ipsybrought hundreds of people to enjoy immersive pop-ups, instagrammable activations, and experiences like mini-makeovers, beauty treatments and a build-your-own-glam-bag station, that was open to the public..

“It was incredible to see so many new and familiar faces attending over 45 events at Paraiso Miami Beach. Growing the platform into a consumer-driven festival was just the first step in the right direction, that fused a new lifestyle component to the swim and resort-wear industries. While Miami Beach has been a hub for swimwear, it’s only recently that its garnered such notoriety among resort wear brands and luxury retailers along with the attendance of top-tier editors and influencers” – said Aleksander Stojanovic, co-founder of Paraiso Miami Beach. “Our runway shows represented a new standard in both, beauty and guest experience,” Stojanovic continued.

This summer marked the second installment of Paraiso Miami Beach. The partnership with Launchmetrics, the fashion industry’s leading marketing analytics platform and the premier event management solution, provide attendees with a seamless onsite guest experience.
