London Fashion Week Shows – Deborah Lyons, Poster Girl & Sophia Kah

DEBORAH LYONS’ Spring Summer 2020 collection pays tribute to romanticised British adolescence, the yearning for widening horizons, striving for individuality and independence, and above all a desire for the unknown.

Staying true to the brand’s ethos, Lyons returns to partnering with some of Britain’s finest mills, continuing her affinity for Scottish tartans and tweeds from the Lake Districts, celebrating these traditional crafted heritage fabrics to create a youthful collection.

The election of the mills and the rich local textiles complement the timelessness of the tailoring, whilst the East London Garment District’s production parallels the modernity of the DEBORAH LYONS woman.

POSTER GIRL’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection introduces a series of looks inspired by nymph-like creatures and young lovers, paying homage to Titania and Helena, from Shakespeare’s ‘ A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ whilst this season’s track was ‘The Boy and The Tree’ by Susumu Yokota.

Whilst to date POSTER GIRL are renowned for their structured chainmail designs, this season Co-Founders Francesca Capper and Natasha Somerville, display more flowing and organic forms, developed using a hand marbling technique that involves an intricate dye process on their signature material – these new technological advances become the next phase of ‘POSTER GIRL’.

For Spring/Summer 20, Sophia Kah maintains the brand’s vision of creating timeless looks for an effortless wardrobe. Maturing with each season, the Sophia Kah woman is captivated by the exquisite and alluring detailing found within the artistry of each piece’s elegant finish. Ana Teixeira de Sousa once again draws inspiration from her native Portugal.

Inspired by the village of Comporta, Spring/Summer 20 presents a relaxed edit of dresses and separates influenced by this exclusive beach town. In keeping with the youthfulness of the brand’s aesthetic, this season’s lightweight linens with hand embroidery mirror the craftsmanship, Comporta is known for.
