New for Resort 2024, are nine swimsuits, six high-shine bikinis, two metallic one-piece swimsuits, and one fully sequined bikini in lie green, for those who like to stand out. The swimwear is adorned with a mix of unique rope and rose detailing, which can be seen throughout the collection.

This summer, the ‘Dolce Vita’ takes the Après Beach to a whole new level. Nur Karaata wants to celebrate the colourfulness of summertime and the spreadable joy it brings.

Q: What made you start your eponymous brand?

Before becoming a designer, I built up a following on Instagram from posting my outfits and lifestyle online. People really seemed to like my sense of style and fashion choices, which led to them always asking me to sell my clothes. I’m all for giving clothes a new life, however some pieces are too sentimental for me to sell. Eventually I decided to make clothes exactly how I wanted them to look and feel. This also allowed my audience to own the pieces I love so much.

Q: Where did the inspiration come from for the Resort Collection?

I LOVE to travel, especially in Summer, but one thing I hate is being in a cute outfit at the beach club and then all of a sudden releasing the time and having to quickly change for dinner. So I wanted my new resort collection, ‘Dolce Vita’, to be easy for me and others to go straight from the beach, to the bar or restaurant without having to go back to the hotel to change. This collection can definitely go from day to night.

Q: Is there a specific city you get most of your inspiration from?

At the moment, St. Tropez, I love the vibe, the fashion, the scenery, it has always inspired me. However, I do get inspiration from all around the world, resort venues also really inspire me, some of the pieces are actually named after some of my favourite restaurants, resorts and places.

Q: How do you nod to trends in your collections?

I love seeing new trends and how people interpret them. For me, I love shiny material and sequinned pieces which is something I always incorporate into my collections regardless if it’s trending or not.

Q: In which city would you like to show your next collection?

London! I love the fashion scene, I love the people there too, I also went to university there so it holds a special place in my heart. In the future, I hope to hold my fashion show there during London Fashion Week, that would be an absolute dream. For now though, I am planning to do a little something to celebrate the new ‘Dolce Vita’ collection.

Q: What is your favorite piece in the collection?

My favourite piece is the One & Only Mini Dress. I love the colour, the studded silver crystals, and the style. It looks amazing on sun kissed skin and you can wear it to the beach, party, or dinner.

Q: Do you have muses?

That’s a really good question! I love so many celebrities/ influencers and even my friends and family style! I’m really pleased to see Eliza Spencer, Sophie Hermann, and Maja Malnar wearing my designs. I love all three of the girls’ and their styles.

Q: What’s next for Nur Karaata?

We are currently working on a collaboration capsule collection with a brand. I can’t wait to share it with everyone, it’s coming soon!!

We are always looking at ways to become more sustainable. We have made Nur Karaata available on rental platforms such as By Rotation and My Wardrobe HQ.
