Flying Solo Unites 63 Designers from 14 Countries to Showcase Over 200 Looks

Flying Solo is uniting 63 designers from 14 countries to showcase over 200 looks

While fashion brands are skipping NYFW and shrinking their operations, Flying Solo recently opened their newest SOHO store at 420 W Broadway and was among the bravest few this season to host a live show. The show took place on a rooftop with the NYC skyline as a backdrop.

Flying Solo’s NYFW show was divided into 4 parts with a red carpet reception for designers in between the shows. Flying Solo did not scale down either and showcased 63 designers from 14 countries, which made it once again the biggest showcase of fashion brands at NYFW. Collections that were showcased ranged from RTW to Couture as well as accessories, shoes, and jewelry.

“Flying Solo represents a new model of how things need to be done in the fashion industry,” said Elizabeth Solomeina, co-founder of Flying Solo and an executive producer of Flying Solo’s NYFW shows. “We’re uniting designers and brands in order to get them larger exposure and maximize the results.” Elizabeth also mentioned that Flying Solo is planning to open another retail location in New York, LA, and Paris in 2021.

Flying Solo believes that more collaboration and unity in Fashion is not only the future but the only way forward for an industry struggling with the steadily declining number of retail stores, the shuttering of some of the most iconic names in the industry, and the rise in popularity of the sharing economy amongst a new generation of consumers.

Flying Solo is a membership-based retail service with over 200+ current members and a waitlist of over 1,500 brands collaborating in order to create a thriving retail industry that works for the most innovative designers and brands. In 2018 & 2019 Flying Solo continued expanding adding another 8,000 sq ft location at 382 W Broadway and their invite-only location called The Copper Room. In June 2020, Flying Solo expanded into 8,000 square foot flagship store at 420 West Broadway. The store has notable clientele including Cardi B, Bella Hadid, Alicia Keys, Coco Rocha, Vanessa Hudgens, Leandra Medine, and many others.

This Year’s Head Stylists were Alina Kotsiuba & Stasi Berezovskaya; Lead Makeup Artist – Dmitry Kukushkin.
