0

The 2025 edition of Aruba Fashion Week (AFW) has officially come to a close, and organizers are proud to announce that this year’s event has been a resounding success.

The continued growth and evolution of AFW were evident not only in the elevated presentation of each show, but also in the expanding reach of the platform—drawing unprecedented attention from the local community, international press, and global fashion enthusiasts.

From Thursday, December 11 to Sunday, December 14, Aruba became the epicenter of glamour and artistic expression as fashionistas, designers, media representatives, and invited guests gathered to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and Caribbean elegance. The organizers expressed deep satisfaction with the overwhelmingly positive reactions received from partners, designers, and the public, reaffirming AFW’s position as one of the region’s premier fashion events.

Aruba Fashion Week 2025

Aruba Fashion Week extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) for its continued support. A.T.A.’s commitment to fostering local talent within the Orange Economy and positioning Aruba as a leading luxury and lifestyle destination has been fundamental to the success of this initiative.

A special word of thanks goes to the management and staff of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar for their impeccable cooperation and hospitality. Their majestic facilities served as the perfect backdrop for this year’s edition, providing a seamless experience for designers, guests, and production teams. Gratitude is also extended to Shiva’s Jewelers for entrusting AFW with the opportunity to highlight their exquisite jewelry collection during the festivities.

Aruba Fashion Week further recognizes Informa Models for their exceptional execution and coordination of all runway production elements—from castings and fittings to rehearsals and backstage management. The event also celebrates the remarkable contributions of all Aruban and international designers who shared their artistic visions with the platform.

The AFW team, volunteers, and loyal audience played an essential role in making this edition unforgettable, demonstrating once more the community’s passion for the arts and creative industries. Huge thanks to our trusted partners: Aruba Tourism Authority, JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, Zim Rooftop Bar, Shivas Jewelers, Departamento di Cultura Aruba, Kerastase Paris, Revlon, Santa Margherita, Pepe Margo Distillery, Testarosa Motors, Elite Productions & Entertainment, Procolombia, Haagen-Dasz, Caribbean Print, First Class Experience, Avianca, ID Realty Group, Alma Treats, Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Casamigos Car Rental, Penha Duty Free, Aruba Airport Authority, and Verbum Works.

As AFW looks toward the future, organizers are excited about the ripple effects this year’s edition will generate in promoting Aruba worldwide. The fashion community eagerly awaits the announcement from FDLA/NYFW revealing which local designer will represent Aruba at New York Fashion Week in February 2026. Throughout the coming year, AFW will continue working with its alliances to propel Aruban talent onto international stages.

See you at Aruba Fashion Week 2026.

How To Maintain A Healthy Mouth: Essential Tips For Oral Hygiene

0

A healthy mouth is built on small daily habits.

With a few steady moves, you can lower your risk for cavities and gum disease, keep breath fresh, and protect your smile for years. Use these clear, simple steps to set up a routine that fits your life.

Brushing Basics

Brush twice a day with a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste. If you want hands-on guidance or need a checkup, you can book with a local provider, like a spring branch dentist, to fine-tune your technique and tools. Aim for 2 minutes and use gentle, short strokes that cover every tooth surface.

Hold the brush at a slight angle toward the gumline. Move in small circles on the fronts, backs, and chewing edges, and finish with a quick clean of the tongue. Replace the brush or head every 3 months or sooner if bristles splay.

Flossing And Between-Teeth Cleaning

Plaque loves tight spaces where a brush cannot reach. Clean between teeth once a day with floss, interdental brushes, or a water flosser to sweep away stuck food and bacteria before they harden.

Slide the floss gently between teeth, curve it in a C-shape around the side of one tooth, and move it up and down a few times before switching sides. If you wear braces, bridges, or a retainer, use a floss threader or orthodontic flosser so you can reach under wires and around fixtures without snapping the floss.

Be gentle and guide the floss in a C-shape along each tooth. A little bleeding at first is common – keep a light touch and stay consistent for a week or two as gums adapt.

Wider gaps or dental work may do better with small interdental brushes sized to fit snugly without forcing; a water flosser can help around implants or sensitive gums. For best results, clean between teeth before brushing so fluoride toothpaste can reach those freshly cleared spaces.

Fluoride For Strong Enamel

Fluoride helps minerals lock back into enamel, making teeth tougher against acid attacks. Use a fluoride toothpaste twice a day and spit out extra rather than rinsing right away so more fluoride can stay on the teeth.

Public health guidance says brushing at night and one other time daily with fluoride toothpaste supports long-term protection, especially when snacking patterns bathe teeth in acids. If you have frequent decay, your dental team may suggest a high-fluoride paste or professional varnish.

Timing, Tools, And Technique Tips

Build a routine you can repeat every day, morning and night. Wait about 30 minutes after acidic foods or drinks before brushing so enamel can recover.

  • Set a 2-minute timer or use a brush with a built-in pacer
  • Divide your mouth into 4 zones and spend 30 seconds in each
  • Use a soft-bristled brush to avoid gum wear
  • Brush the tongue and cheeks lightly to cut odor-causing bacteria
  • Replace brush heads every 3 months or after illness

Diet, Drinks, And Dry Mouth

Sugar feeds the bacteria that produce cavity-causing acids. Keep sweets with meals instead of frequent snacks, and limit sipping on sugary or acidic drinks like soda, sports drinks, and citrus juices.

If you do have them, use a straw and finish in one sitting rather than nursing it for hours – then rinse with water. Choose tooth-friendly snacks such as cheese, yogurt, nuts, and crunchy veggies, and try to end meals with water or dairy to help neutralize acids.

If your mouth feels dry often, check medicines with your provider and try sugar-free gum or lozenges with xylitol to boost saliva. Sip plain water regularly, use alcohol-free mouthwash, and consider a bedside humidifier at night if the air feels dry.

Professional Care And Monitoring

Regular dental visits catch small issues before they grow. Many people do well with a checkup and cleaning every 6 to 12 months, but your schedule may change based on risk and history.

Bring a list of medicines and any health changes. X-rays, periodontal checks, and fluoride treatments can be timed to your needs, and your team can coach you on better home care without overdoing pressure or products.

Care For All Ages

Kids need help brushing until they can tie their shoes well. Use a smear of fluoride toothpaste for toddlers and a pea-sized amount by age 3, and guide the brush to cover every surface without scrubbing too hard.

Older adults may face dry mouth, root exposure, or dexterity limits. A recent NHS overview reinforces that twice-daily brushing with fluoride for about 2 minutes supports mouth health and helps control plaque, which is especially useful when gums are more vulnerable with age.

Keeping your mouth healthy comes down to simple steps done well. Choose tools you like, make the routine automatic, and ask your dental team when something feels off. With steady care and a few smart choices, your smile can stay strong at every age.

November 25, 2025 Florida Men’s Fashion Week — The Strongest Season Yet

0
(Photo: Stanislav Kozub)

This past week, Florida witnessed its most anticipated event in men’s fashion — the third season of Florida Men’s Fashion Week, a two-day celebration that brought together designers, models, creatives, and fashion lovers from across the United States and around the world.

Over the past year and across three seasons, the founders have succeeded in building a creative cultural bridge in Miami — a space where people from different states and continents come together to share their craft, their energy, and their love for fashion. The atmosphere that formed inside the venue was one of sincerity, freedom, and passion. And while each collection carried its own story, the bigger story was the community itself — 22 designers over two days, an unforgettable afterparty, and a moment that reminded everyone why fashion matters.

DAY ONE — A Garden of Creativity

The first day opened with a beautifully complete and harmonious show by Luis Aponte. His collection felt like stepping into a blooming garden — refined fabrics, impeccable styling, and attention to every detail.

The Florida Supports Florida initiative continued this season, presenting three local designers. Among them, La Magnetique captured hearts with a pajama-inspired lineup that felt genuinely heartfelt and lovingly crafted.

Skybina Kateryna delivered one of the day’s most memorable moments with bold crochet pieces — bright red shorts, tops shaped like flowers, crochet tees, beanies, and a vibe that felt light, Brazilian, and stylish.

DrevelmaN presented a structured lineup of men’s corsets. While the makeup was a touch strong, the craftsmanship of the corsets stood out — clear, architectural, and body-focused.

From New York, Kerron.R brought a palette of greys touched with gold and burgundy, but the highlight was the turquoise knitted vest look — open-chested, detailed, and unforgettable.

Kenneth “K-Bobby” Edgar, returning for the second season, showcased a collection reflecting his years of experience as a costumer — zodiac-inspired bodysuits, hand-painted pieces, chiffon sleeves, and bold men’s bodysuits that dominated the runway.

Eyo Annang showcased African-inspired motifs in his new collection.

DOPE Tavio, also returning, once again turned the runway into a Berlin-style afterparty — a celebration of identity, freedom, and self-expression.

The evening’s headliner, Rivesse by Ishan Sanghvi from India, delivered a cultural immersion into modern Indian menswear — rich colors, embroidery, and noble silhouettes that made everyone want to feel like a Maharaja for a moment.

Day One closed with Joseph Auren, whose asymmetric and futuristic collection — oversized silhouettes, triangular collars, iridescent fabrics — stayed true to his strong signature aesthetic.

DAY TWO — Sport, Style, and Cinematic Energy

The second day opened with a sportswear segment, highlighted by Forplayers Club, whose styling and use of sport accessories made the show dynamic and highly entertaining.

A symbolic moment followed when the organizers presented Miami’s local soccer club on the runway — a gesture of support and community SC Gulfstream.

Feartheliving showcased an upcycling-centered collection. While upcycling as a concept varies in its fashion expression, several pieces stood out through strong styling — yellow skirts, laser embroidery, sheer structured skirts, leather shorts, and cropped military jackets with a French flair. Together, it formed an engaging, vibrant show.

Quintus presented his debut collection “Genesis,” built around meticulous details. This is reflected in the story behind the graphics, for example in the two headed lamb motif, which symbolizes duality. The collection focuses on cut, premium fabrics and materials, and the meticulous construction of the garments, all of which are produced entirely in Los Angeles, creating versatile pieces designed to last.

One of the true highlights of Day Two was Valeria Croatto (VAL) returning for her third season. Her work showed deep research and evolution — her man this season was bold, confident, elegant, with masterful textures and fabric play.

For this season, Juan De La Cruz continues to explore structural elements, coordinating them with more intricate pieces to achieve a balance between strength, sensuality, and experimentation.

Vlackbook demonstrated both exceptional craftsmanship and a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, offering a new perspective on the future of sustainable, personalized fashion.

Closing Florida Men’s Fashion Week for the third time, The Room Concept Store x Juan Castillo presented Black Book — a cinematic study in black. Despite the challenge of an all-black palette, he created one of the most atmospheric shows of the season, with outstanding styling, standout models, and an emotional energy that filled the room.

International talent continued with Reside from Kyrgyzstan, whose work with cashmere — techniques, variations, craftsmanship — resulted in a refined and beautifully executed collection.

Tony Vision added his own perspective with strong styling choices and distinct visual character.

The Stephen Collection, the only classic menswear brand this season, transported the audience straight to the Amalfi Coast — elegant silhouettes and refined tailoring that felt like watching impeccably dressed Italian men passing by.

The final emotional wave came from Stephen Michael Oliver, whose collection felt like a Miami sunset — warm, glowing, atmospheric, and beautifully composed, leaving the audience with that rare, lasting aftertaste.

A Season to Remember

This season of Florida Men’s Fashion Week was more than a fashion event. It was a meeting point of cultures, perspectives, and creative identities. It was a celebration of diversity in menswear — from couture craftsmanship to sportswear, from conceptual shows to classic tailoring.

And without a doubt, it was the strongest season yet — one that will stay with us for a long time.

Florida Men’s Fashion Week has announced a new stage in its development. The project is opening a new chapter called For Men’s Fashion Week. This new chapter focuses on the ongoing advancement of men’s fashion and the steady expansion of its presence across key cities in the United States and Europe. For Men’s Fashion Week will host events in these markets, strengthening the influence of the men’s fashion industry and creating new growth opportunities for designers, brands, and the professional community.

The 3 Top Latino Designers to Watch in 2026

0

The 7th edition of the Latin American Fashion Summit (LAFS), held from November 2 to 4, 2025, in Miami’s Design District, reaffirmed its position as the leading platform for Latin American fashion and design.

Founded by Estefanía Lacayo and Samantha Tams, the female-led summit gathered global retailers, editors, founders, and creatives for three days of curated programming focused on innovation, sustainability, and cross-border collaboration.

Among the most anticipated moments of LAFS 2025 was the Pitch to LAFS competition, where emerging brands presented their business concepts to a panel of industry leaders. The winners—recognized in three distinct categories—represent the creative excellence and cultural depth driving Latin fashion forward. Each recipient was awarded a $10,000 seeding grant, mentorship, a booth at Coterie, a trunk show with Moda Operandi, and a six-month premium package with ShopMy.

One of the most powerful engines behind LAFS’s impact is this very competition—a rigorous, high-profile contest designed to identify and elevate the next generation of Latin American fashion leaders. Finalists face a distinguished jury of executive directors, buyers, editors, designers, and consultants—some of the most influential voices in the global fashion industry. Winning Pitch to LAFS is not only a recognition of creative excellence, but a launchpad for international growth, strategic partnerships, and long-term visibility.

That’s precisely why the three winners of Pitch to LAFS 2025—Weise, La Torres, and Supernaturae—stand out as the top Latino designers to watch in 2026.

Designer of the Year: WEISE (Bolivia)

Founded in 2011 by Ericka Suárez Weise, WEISE is a prêt-à-couture brand that merges traditional haute couture techniques with Bolivian cultural elements and a modern, authentic perspective. A third-generation designer, Ericka’s work is rooted in textile exploration, incorporating silk ribbons from cholita shawls, tulle textures, and handcrafted embroidery. Every piece is designed and produced entirely in-house at the brand’s atelier, resulting in garments that are both timeless and deeply personal.

Accessories Designer of the Year: La Torres (Argentina)

Jimena Torres, a fashion designer with a passion for timeless elegance, is the creative force behind La Torres, a jewelry brand that blends fashion and craftsmanship. Drawing on her background in apparel design, Jimena creates one-of-a-kind pieces using noble metals such as 925 silver, alpaca, and bronze. Each creation is handcrafted to tell a story, celebrate individuality, and reflect a commitment to quality, sustainability, and authenticity.

Social Impact Project of the Year: Supernaturae (Mexico)

Founded by Benedicte Lux, Supernaturae is a conscious fashion brand born from years of research into artisanal production and sustainable practices. Originally launched as a clothing line, the brand has evolved into a multifaceted project that includes a rural supply chain, immersive experiences, and textile workshops focused on natural fibers and local dyes. With a background in arts and design criticism, Lux creates collectible pieces that honor craftsmanship, empower artisans, and embrace slow fashion designed to endure—and eventually return to the Earth.

Over the years, Pitch to LAFS has helped launch some of the region’s most exciting fashion names, including Baobab, Studio Conchita, and Curatoria, enabling participants to secure international distribution, high-profile collaborations, and significant business growth. The program continues to serve as a key media touchpoint at LAFS, offering exclusive access to the next wave of Latin American talent and the stories shaping the region’s creative landscape.

As the global fashion industry continues to look south for innovation and authenticity, these three designers are not just names to watch—they are shaping the future of fashion from Latin America to the world.

Mexico’s Jewelry Legacy Shines at Escaparate 2025

0

On November 26, the Cámara de Joyería de Jalisco unveiled Escaparate 2025: Jewels of Mexico Through Time at the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas in Guadalajara.

Recognized as the most important jewelry trend salon in Mexico, this year’s edition fused fashion and performing arts to celebrate the country’s cultural richness.

The showcase explored six defining eras of Mexican identity: the pre-Hispanic period, the Colonial era, Independence, the Mexican Revolution, modern Mexico, and the Mexico of tomorrow. Designers presented large-format pieces crafted in silver, crystals, gemstones, and alternative materials—each creation interpreting symbols, emotions, and transitions that have shaped the nation’s history.

In her opening remarks, María de Lourdes Cázares Ruiz, President of the Cámara de Joyería de Jalisco, emphasized the cultural and artistic power of the craft: “Jewelry is art, craft, identity, and future. Your talent elevates our industry and projects to the world the beauty of what Mexico knows how to create.”

Mexico: Latin America’s Jewelry Leader

Escaparate’s significance extends beyond artistry. Mexico—and particularly Jalisco—has consolidated its position as the jewelry hub of Latin America. The state produces nearly 70% of Mexico’s jewelry output, exporting to markets such as Chile, Guatemala, Peru, and Turkey. Mexico also holds the distinction of being the world’s leading silver producer, a resource that underpins its global reputation for quality and innovation. You might have seen some of the exquisite Jaliciense jewelry on offer in the Puerto Vallarta luxury hotels, which often have jewelers on site to showcase the stunning pieces from this region.

Creativity, History, and Solidarity

Escaparate 2025 reaffirmed its role as a strategic platform for positioning Mexican jewelry on the world stage. Beyond design, the event embraced a social cause: participating designers donated exclusive pieces to be auctioned during the closing cocktail, with proceeds benefiting Refugio Buenos Chicos, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and protecting dogs in situations of abandonment or abuse.

As Cázares Ruiz concluded: “Tonight we celebrate creativity, history, community, and solidarity. I invite you to keep building a future where design, culture, and talent remain the pride of our country, shining through jewelry made in Mexico.”

Escaparate 2025 confirms that Mexican jewelry is not only a cultural treasure but also a leader in Latin America—transforming history into creations that illuminate both the present and the future.

Feel Strong, Look Effortless: The Quiet Power of a Great Black Catsuit

0

There’s something deeply empowering about slipping into a well-made black catsuit. It follows every movement without ever demanding you suck anything in, hold anything back, or apologize for taking up space. It simply moves with you — through deep stretches, heavy lifts, long walks, or just the everyday act of breathing.

In a world full of complicated outfits and endless decisions, the simplicity of a full-length black catsuit feels almost radical. No layers to adjust, no waistbands rolling down, no distractions. Just one piece that supports you completely so you can focus on what actually matters: showing up for yourself.

For many women, it has quietly become more than workout wear — it’s a uniform for consistency. A signal to the body and mind that it’s time to move, to breathe, to get strong in whatever way the day requires.

What Makes a Truly Great Black Catsuit

The difference between an ordinary one-piece and one you’ll actually live in comes down to thoughtful details that prioritize real movement and all-day comfort:

  • A true second-skin fit that compresses gently without restricting or losing shape
  • A front zipper for easy on/off and adjustable coverage
  • Advanced moisture-wicking and breathability that keeps you cool and dry even when intensity rises
  • Strategic compression that supports posture and muscles without feeling like a corset
  • Minimal seams to eliminate chafing and create a clean, streamlined look
  • Fabric that stays soft and opaque through hundreds of washes and wears

When these elements come together, the result is a piece that feels like it was made exactly for your body — because the best ones actually are.

How It Actually Improves Your Movement (Yes, Science Agrees)

What you wear genuinely affects how you move and feel. The concept of “enclothed cognition” shows that clothing influences mindset and performance — athletic wear in particular increases feelings of confidence, focus, and capability. When you’re wrapped in something that fits perfectly and removes physical distractions, you’re mentally freer to push harder, hold poses longer, and recover better.

A great catsuit doesn’t just cover you — it quietly reminds you that you’re capable, right now, exactly as you are.

Styling It Beyond the Gym (Because You’ll Want To)

Its versatility is half the addiction:

  • Oversized sweatshirt + sneakers = perfect low-key weekend vibe
  • Cropped bomber or puffer + high-tops = effortless streetwear edge
  • Long trench or blazer + loafers = surprisingly polished for coffee runs or casual meetings
  • Soft cardigan + fuzzy socks = the coziest recovery uniform

The clean black silhouette never fights with the rest of your outfit — it simply elevates everything.

Care Tips to Keep It Perfect

  • Cold gentle wash, no fabric softener
  • Air dry flat or hanging (never tumble dry)
  • Mild detergent only, no bleach
  • Fold or hang — it holds shape beautifully

Treat it well and it will easily last years without pilling, sagging, or fading.

If you’re looking for one that truly checks every box mentioned above — the one I personally reach for constantly — it’s this full-length black catsuit from BetterMe Store.

It’s the rare piece that makes movement feel easier, styling simpler, and showing up for yourself completely non-negotiable. Once you live in one that’s made this well, everything else starts to feel like noise.

When the Body Remembers: Ukrainian Tattoo Artist Anastasiia Pavlenko Turns Emotions Into Design

0

When people talk about tattoos, they usually mean a picture. Something that should look striking, tell a story, impress. Anastasiia does something else. She marks points where time stands still.

The Ukrainian artist living in Colorado works with thin lines—almost invisible unless you look closely. Her tattoos don’t shout. They whisper. A single word on a wrist. An outline on ribs. A line along a collarbone. It all looks almost accidental—like someone marked themselves and forgot to erase it. But it’s not accidental. It’s the shape a feeling took.

Ana doesn’t decorate bodies. She helps people leave on their skin what would otherwise dissolve. The birth of a child. A moment when everything became clear. A decision that changed the direction of life. The day you understood who you really are. “People don’t come for beauty,” she says. “They come to fix something in place. So it won’t drift away anymore.” And she fixes it. Not with a drawing, but with a mark. Something so small that only you can see it, but so precise that every time your eyes fall on that line—you return to where it all started.

One woman came after losing her brother. Wanted something about his resilience—the quality that defined him. Anastasiia drew a skeleton hand holding a dandelion. Death holding a flower that refuses to die. The woman couldn’t speak. At the end of the session, she hugged Ana and cried.

Anastasiia works at Terrapin Tattoo studio in Centennial, a Denver suburb. Within her first year of working in the U.S., she’s joined three professional associations—the Alliance of Professional Tattooists, Global Tattoo Association, and Tattoo Benefits Association of America. For a Ukrainian who started in Poland, it’s a path from apprentice to recognized master. She takes appointments only—Monday through Friday, three or four people a week. No walk-ins, no one off the street. Each meeting is planned in advance, sometimes a month out.

A Process That Begins With Conversation

Because her work doesn’t start with a needle. It starts with conversation. Long, sometimes uncomfortable. Ana asks questions people don’t expect to hear in a tattoo shop. Not “what do you want,” but “why are you here.” Not “what style,” but “what happened.”

Messages can go back and forth for weeks. A person sends an idea, she asks—what’s behind it. They explain. She digs deeper. And so on—until she gets to that exact image, word, line that captures everything.

A session can last an hour, can last five. It depends not on the size of the tattoo, but on how ready the person is. Sometimes you just need to sit down, breathe out, and start. Sometimes—go over everything once more right before the work begins.

Anastasiia turns people down if she feels a project isn’t hers. Bright colors, old school, something aggressive or decorative—that’s not it. Hands, fingers, intimate areas—also no. Not because it’s technically difficult. It’s just not what she does.

She works with people who already know why they came. Maybe they don’t know what it looks like, but they definitely know what’s inside. They have a story. A symbol. A phrase. The handwriting of someone who’s gone. A date. A moment.

Her work isn’t for Instagram. Everything’s too small there, too faint. In photos they’re barely visible. But on the body—they’re louder than any sleeve. It’s like someone took a marker and wrote on their arm what they mustn’t forget. Except forever.

Rituals of Connection

She sees a lot of matching tattoos. Friends, couples, siblings marking their bond. Identical elements or mirrored ones, or designs that complete each other. Not aesthetics. It’s a ritual. A way to say without saying: you’re part of me, I’m part of you.

Ana doesn’t call it therapy. Doesn’t use big words. Though she wrote a study about how personal symbols on skin help process traumatic experience. Not heal it, but process it—give it a form you can live with. People often say that after a session with her, something inside settles. Not because the pain left. But because it found its place. Became not a cloud, but a point on a map.

One girl who lost her grandfather asked for a dragonfly. Anastasiia wove his initials into the wing pattern—hidden in the natural lines, invisible unless you know where to look. “You’re always here,” the tattoo says. “Just different now.” That’s what Ana does. She translates the internal to the external. Not to show everyone. To not lose it yourself.

The Absence of Style

Her style is the absence of style. No signature techniques, no repeating motifs. Each piece looks like someone else made it. Because each one is for a specific person, for their story. One person needs a vertical line. Another—a circle. A third—a fox, their totem animal, the thing that lives between instinct and thought.

From first message to session usually takes two to three weeks. It’s not a delay. It’s time to think it through. To feel it. To understand what exactly should remain on the skin. Anastasiia doesn’t rush. She knows: if you hurry—it’ll come out pretty, but empty.

She gets this depth because she’s been her own client. Three small words on her body: Trust. Allow. Be Grateful. She got them working through anxiety and the need to control everything. Each word had weight. The tattoo became an anchor—a reminder she doesn’t need to fight the current.

Anastasiia is convinced: memory should have a form. Not necessarily complex. But precise. One where when you look—you immediately return to where it happened.

She doesn’t do decorative tattoos. Doesn’t do “just pretty.” If someone comes with a request for “something stylish”—she says no. “That’s not mine. I work with what can’t be postponed.”

A Living Chronicle

She has a client she’s done three pieces for over two years. The first—after a divorce. A thin line on the shoulder that breaks off. The second—six months later when the woman moved to another city. A small outline on her ankle—like a footprint. The third—recently, when she met someone new. An unclosed circle on her wrist. “I didn’t plan to get tattoos,” the woman says. “But every time something changed, I understood: I need to fix this. Otherwise it’ll dissolve, like it never happened.” That’s what Ana is for. So important things don’t dissolve.

She was once a judge at international beauty competitions, but returned to tattoos. Because there, on stage, it’s all about the external. And here—it’s about what remains when no one’s watching. Now she’s working on an educational project for artists who want to work not just with skin, but with stories.

Her work isn’t art in the usual sense. It’s a way to hold a moment. Turn a feeling into a line, an event—into an outline, a decision—into a point. When the body remembers—it doesn’t remember abstractly. It remembers specifically: right here, like this, this thing. And Ana’s tattoo isn’t a picture over memory. It’s the memory itself that found a place on skin.

A thin line. One word. A small mark. Everything you need to not forget who you are and where you came from.
