“The 36th edition of Colombiamoda consolidates Colombia as the epicenter where business, design, and culture unite to project to the world an industry with identity, innovation, and purpose. It is a platform that definitively integrates fashion expressions and business opportunities to strengthen a Latin American Fashion System with a global vision. Medellín is the creative capital of Latin America, and Colombiamoda is proof that Colombian fashion not only drives the economy but also defines trends, creates strategic value, and leads the cultural transformation of the industry on the international stage,” highlights Sebastián Díez, Executive President of Inexmoda.
For a week, Medellín once again demonstrated why it is the fashion capital of Latin America. The city breathed fashion, creativity, and design as it welcomed thousands of visitors and transformed its urban spaces into stages for art, culture, and business. With its textile vocation and its positioning as a creative and industrial epicenter of the region, Colombiamoda reaffirmed Medellín as a city that connects economy, talent, and culture around the Colombian Fashion System. For this new edition, according to the Tourist Intelligence System (SIT), it generated an economic impact of $17.7 million dollars, corresponding to specialized MICE business tourism.
“Every year, Colombiamoda 2025 consolidates itself as a strategic showcase to reaffirm Medellín as the capital of fashion and design in Latin America. It is also a key opportunity to showcase and support the sustainable and circular fashion initiatives emerging in the city. For the entrepreneurs and creators that we sponsor from the Mayor’s Office of Medellín—the talent of our city—we also reported a positive balance with a business projection for a value exceeding $312 million pesos and more than 683 national and international contacts,” indicates Juan David Molina Olarte, Acting Secretary of Economic Development of Medellín.
Design, Brands, and Cocreation: A Declaration to Global Fashion
Colombiamoda 2025 featured 34 runway shows that fused culture, art, and the city. These shows, held at 46 venues across Medellín, connected fashion, business, art, culture, and entertainment with the world. The fashion expressions were the spirit of this new circuit, which, for this edition, included Parques del Río as a new location complementary to Plaza Mayor in the fashion expressions of Colombia Fashion Week.
This edition of Colombiamoda celebrated the return of iconic brands. After a decade, Agua Bendita made a dazzling return with the inaugural runway show at Plaza Botero, presenting a collection that celebrated the designer’s mark, sophistication, and Colombian roots. Other outstanding moments included La Petite Mort’s opening runway show, which explored the dialogue between design and aesthetic experimentation. The event concluded with the presence of Mexican designers, represented by Julia y Renata, who reinforced the Latin American character and DNA.
The last day of Colombiamoda 2025 closed with a program that integrated women’s fashion, conscious luxury, and designer proposals. Pink Filosofy presented a narrative about timeless design. The day also featured a collaboration from Sea Salt x Socarrás, with its collection Lola baila descalza, inspired by the woman of the 50s. The day concluded with a closing show by Y/Out, which delivered a declaration of urban fashion and aesthetic experimentation.
Sustainability as a Strategic Pillar
Sustainability consolidated itself as one of Colombiamoda 2025’s most solid value propositions. More than 50 brands were part of the Sustainability Route, which integrated practices of circularity, traceability, and the development of ecoinnovative fibers. The Circular Fashion Market, developed in alliance with CocaCola, featured 20 brands that are rethinking production and consumption models with inputs such as recycled PET, hemp, and recovered cotton, fostering conscious consumption and design with purpose. The fair also recognized ten companies leading projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals in areas such as circularity, social impact, and environmental protection, reinforcing sustainability as a differentiating value for the industry and the consumer.
Inspiration that Designs the Future of the Industry
The Fashion System emphasized the importance of inspiration and staying current as a key starting point for addressing global opportunities and challenges. The Knowledge Pavilion, a collaboration between Inexmoda, Sapiencia, and the Pascual Bravo University Institution, gathered more than 3,000 attendees, both in person and virtually. The Pavilion featured 50 conferences and more than 150 national and international experts. Thanks to the alliance between Inexmoda, Sapiencia, and the Pascual Bravo University Institution, this space addressed topics such as circular economy, textile biotechnology, and strategies to turn environmental responsibility into a competitive advantage.
“The designs presented on the runway were the result of our students’ Integrative Classroom Projects (Proyectos Integradores de Aula) during the semester, and Colombiamoda is the most anticipated stage for them showcase all their talent,” notes Lina María Ortiz Quimbay, Dean of the Faculty of Production and Design at the Pascual Bravo University Institution.
This effort was also complemented by the Trends Forum and the Green Talks, in alliance with VEJA. The events convened experts from more than 10 countries to explore topics like sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, consumer behavior, branding, and internationalization, providing strategic tools for the actors of the Fashion System.
Inter Rapidísimo ratified its commitment to the Colombian Fashion System as the official sponsor of Colombiamoda 2025, reaffirming its dedication to boosting Colombian talent with efficiency, sustainability, and logistical innovation.
“Colombiamoda is the sum of many entrepreneurs; we are proud to be part of this platform that every year reflects the greatness of national talent, where creativity has no limits,” states Isaac Chaparro, Creative Vice President of Inter Rapidísimo.
Fashion that Transcends to Lifestyle
For the first time, Colombiamoda brought fashion beyond the runway to connect with people’s lifestyles through Run the Runway, an urban race that fused sport, wellbeing, design, and the city. More than 1,500 amateur runners participated in this unprecedented experience that marked the start of Colombia Fashion Week 2025, transforming Medellín into a stage where fashion connects with daily life and is lived in motion.
With this edition, Colombiamoda 2025 not only confirms the power of fashion as an economic and cultural driver but also projects Colombia as a country that stands out for its creative, innovative, and strategic talent in global sourcing. Colombia Fashion Week reaffirmed that Latin American fashion has its own voice and a designer’s mark, currently engaging with the global Fashion System through talent, vision, and cocreation.
