The Best Newcomers In Everyday Fashion

America is gearing up for a big fashion splurge. As Quartz magazine notes, disposable income levels are higher than ever, and for many that means new clothes, new accessories, and perhaps a whole new style. Meeting that demand for something fresh in 2023 are the new fashion houses making their mark in the world of everyday consumer threads. From custom vegan brand Second Summer, through to the retro vibes of AGR Knit, and the bold simplicity of Jenny Bird, the next generation of fashion brands are providing a lot of inspiration in the malls and boutiques of the nation.

Hot trend clothing

In a recent review of upcoming fashion brands that they feel will be the most impactful through 2023, Grazia profiled Second Summer. Designed to replicate the class and freedom loving vibes of Ibiza, the brand is also closely focused on custom, vegan-only crafting. This is a huge winning point for many fashion lovers. Ethical consumption often means vegan clothing, and a focus on positive historical change in the way clothes are constructed, how the people in the industry are treated, and how the brand reflects those values. The only way to achieve this is through small-scale bespoke manufacturing, and an increasing number of fashion brands are relying on such opportunities to get their product out. Paired with genuinely exciting designs and you can see why brands like Second Summer are making such a buzz.

Back to the future

Elle magazine recently profiled AGR Knit, highlighting how they’ve brought together retro vibes with the warmth and joy of modern-day knitwear trends. This is a melding together of trends that’s very suited for modern fusion fashion, and there are few cooler trends right now than retro wear – especially if it’s a bridge between 80s garish and 90s dad-core fashion. In knitwear it has an opportunity to present real quality, departing from fast fashion, and creating garments that stand the test of the time – as they would, being based in the 80s and yet having modern qualities. These basic but bold designs are also leading into one of the most exciting new brands in jewelry.

Simple but effective

Jenny Bird designs are now so popular that Forbes have described them as being ‘cult designs’. This is perhaps unfair given the widespread uptake of pieces in the line, but it nods towards a simple and bold time where it concerns accessorization. Simple golds, silvers, and everything in-between combine to create simple and bold pieces that are there to add color and strength to the outfit without taking away every single point of discussion. Celebrities from Selena Gomez to Kylie Jenner are now sporting pieces, cementing them in the wider fashion discourse.

Fashion never stays still – not since Coco Chanel, anyway. That legacy is being embraced by the latest fashion ranges, looking to make their name in a competitive market and, crucially, see fashionistas the world over wearing their tags.
