The 5PCS ATELIER finished craftsmanship on 5 pcs of the french chore jackets – each jacket before embellished have been specifically pulled out of the bunch based on tarnish, sunkissed fade, and overall charm. Asemic writing is a hybrid art form that fuses text and image into a unity, and then sets it free to arbitrary subjective interpretations including on all 5 pieces. To round out each piece, extra button detail usually found in high end tailored clothing added inside jacket using the pop red button

Chore Jacket Concept 1: BORO

  • Derived from the Japanese boroboro, meaning something tattered or repaired, boro refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles (often clothes or bedding) through piecing, patching and stitching, in order to extend their use.
  • Each of the 26 pieces are unique and one of a kind.
  • Materials used to create patchwork parts of the pockets and accents are vintage fabrics collected and repurposed by Transnomadica
  • This is the only grouping that does not have an accent red button
  • Roughly 8-10 hours each to construct If you include making the patchwork fabric, creating the boro details, taking the pockets off, applying the Boro fabric to the pockets, sewing the pockets back on, then adding hand stitching

Chore Jacket Concept 2: BINDING

  • Binding refers to a narrow strip of fabric attached along the edge of a project. It hides raw edges, imperfections, so they don’t show or fray, and makes them look nice and finished.
  • Transnomadica has collected japanese vintage non-print prints and combined different patterns onto hem of each jacket including collar, cuff, and opening

Chore Jacket Concept 3: COLORBLOCK

  • All three original pockets removed and reapplied with vintage solid color fabrics
  • Blanket stitch detail on one side collar that takes color cues from opposite lower side pocket
  • Each of the 26 pieces are unique and one of a kind.
  • This group has been tumble washed for a softer hand and sunkissed look
