House of iKons Fashion Week London September 2024

House of iKons was established in London in 2014 with a clear mission: to provide a global platform for emerging designers and creatives. Within the first 12 months, House of iKons expanded their shows to LA, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. This year, House of iKons celebrated its Ten Year Anniversary in London, a testament to its success and global impact.

House of iKons have always taken great pride of offering opportunities to all creatives from all backgrounds and all ages.

Designers that have showcased over the last 10 years have made a global mark, past and present designers with guests and music artists dignitaries and media will all be in attendance at the shows VIP After Party to celebrate this miles stone.

House of iKons Fashion Week London live shows have pulled in over 1,000 people per day in attendance, with private clients, buyers, department stores and boutiques, also in attendance high net worth guests.

Their designers have platformed world wide, and working with celebrities such as Jlo, Katy Perry, Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and many more which can be seen on their social media and various press. Designers have also been selected from the shows to be wardrobe design for feature films.

This season the show continued to celebrate beauty and diversity on their platform of models of all AGES, SHAPE, HEIGHT, BACKGROUNDS from around the WORLD! Setting the STANDARD as market LEADERS not followers! The event was held at the Leonardo Royal Tower Bridge London Hotel in the heart of the City of London on Saturday 14th September 2024.

Few high lights from the designers that show cased and exhibited:

Tykorchélli: In the world of high fashion, there are brands that stand out for their innovation, creativity, and sheer opulence. Tykorchélli is one such brand that has been making waves in the industry headlining at our previous fashion week event and has caused a global fashion storm.

The launch of The Royal Collection at House of iKons Fashion Week London February 2024 unveiled 20 stunning looks that exuded versatility in style, featuring a myriad of interchangeable options. From high fashion to theatrical flair to exquisite formal attire. This show, Tykorchélli became ‘Title Partner’ for House of iKons Ten Year Anniversary Special Show.

Dedicated to uncompromising fashion, specialising in exclusive couture with meticulous attention to detail. Every garment meticulously designed to enhance personal beauty and style.

Tykorchélli’s philosophy revolves around “Making a Statement,” aiming to capture the inner beauty of each individual and elevate it to new heights. The collection made a huge statement, and now they have taken luxury to a whole new level with the debut of their much-anticipated Diamond Collection – World Masquerade of Tykorchélli.

This collection consisted of bespoke gowns, abhaya’s and saris. Highlighting a diverse collection celebrating all cultures.

With special effects and a live performance from Sam Tinnesz created a dazzling theatrical performance with each look created by the designer dazzling on the runway.

Arabesque Boudoir: The CEO of this brand, Maya Mosteghanemi, is a prodigious artist and designer. Her expertise is in abstract oil paintings that explore the uncharted crevices of the subconscious. Maya believes that there is an infinite well of potential within all of us despite being constrained by our material selves. She is as ambitious as she is skilled thanks to her experience as a stylist, brand ambassador and business manager for Nina Ricci, Saint Laurent and Versace for over a decade.

Her latest collection Noeud Papillon (Bow Collection), is inspired by 11th century Renaissance Europe, namely the Ottoman Empire and Britain. This collection captured the passion, care and love for not only each other but for life. It captured Le Savoir Vivre that has taken a backseat in contemporary, alienated and impersonal society. The striking silhouette’s and grand colours created a sense of abundance and the intricate handmade embroideries alongside the quality fabrics added a subtle but powerful level of care within each piece. The piece Emma de Normandy is inspired by the Queen of the same name who herself was headstrong, proud and ambitious. The dedication and passion she put into ruling is reflective of the sentiments of the time. Her radiance emboldened through the gemstone embroideries present in the gown including cultured pearls, rhinestones and quartz crystals. Emma de Normandy was an accomplished woman and feminist icon even in a time where women were not empowered to do so. It is a lesson for people to follow their passions despite the gravity that faces us all. Every look on the runway highlighted elegance and grace, as well as confidence and strength.

Celebrity Stylist Ty-Ron Mayes, fashion beauty and style expert an known for styling Tyra Banks walked for this creative on the runway as of the main catwalk models.

Think Ocean: The Water Lifestyle Clothing Range unveiled “Think Ocean’s” versatile and innovative Water Lifestyle Clothing Range, alongside with their co-created statement pieces. Each item embodied the unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility through collaborative efforts.

Purpose and Impact of this collection transcends fashion, representing a movement dedicated to fostering positive change for people and the planet. This collection narrated a story of sustainable fashion and supported numerous impactful initiatives.

These pieces stand as a testament to their global collaborative efforts, which included empowering vulnerable and marginalised women through skills education, promoting environmental sustainability through training and community engagement, education on environmental stewardship, developing sustainable business models, engaging youth, and organising regular cleanups alongside a focus on recycling and upcycling programs.

High profiled guests such as Charlotte Kirk was in attendance and Donna Ida known as ‘Jean Queen’ graced the runway in this collection.

Benu Apparel: Founder and creative Natassha Nogan love for sewing and fashion began at a very early age. Her mother owned a bridal shop which she visited daily watching women coming in and trying on their dream bridal gowns. With this as her inspiration, and love for travelling and music, Natasha pursued her creative passion.

The name “Benu Apparel” has great meaning to it. “Benu” because of the symbolism behind it, means “re-birth”, to “rise in brilliance”, and “shine”. Natasha’s vision is for her designs to make the individual feel new, to shine, and to help one feel one can rise to any occasion and be true to YOURSELF.” Each look created just that on the runway.

Muse & Sensia: This brands mission is to bring elegance and sensation with their carefully crafted designs. At the heart of the brand lies ‘Muse’ – the essence of artistic creativity, harmoniously blending with ‘Sensia’ – a fusion of sensuality and senses. This designer from Switzerland, launched in London for the first time. Each accessory was eccentric, bold and artful. Each piece designed to perfection and sparked curiosity and evoked playfulness on the runway.

Ronica Marie Couture: This brand was founded in February 2015. The collection was a celebration of women to feel chic, classy, strong and confident.

Schirin Style’s: Schirin Thoma, is a young fashionista from Switzerland, whose previous “Anime Collection” took centre stage. This young designer who is correctly 18 years of age, stunned the guests in attendance. The young designer blended elements of futuristic aesthetics with the whimsical charm of anime culture, Schirin Style’s collection captivated the audience with its bold colours, innovative silhouettes, and futuristic print designs.

A distant relative of the British Royal Family, Xenia Princess of Saxony, Duchess of Saxony will be graced the catwalk in this young designers collection. In attendance one of our high profiled guests ‘Imperial Highnesses Archduchess Herta – Margarete Habsburg – Lorraine’ and ‘Archduke Sandor Habsburg- Lorraine’ a cousin of King Charles III, who thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Beatrice Turin, international singer performed live during this segment. She opened the fashion show with her song “Risk it all” and modelled for this designer. This dynamic performance had every guest in awe.

Indonesian Designers: This was a first that House of iKons Fashion Week London worked closely with the Government of Indonesia to showcase their top talented creatives ‘INDONESIA GLOBAL HALAL FASHION 2024 Organised by BPJPH @halal.indonesia The Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and supported by The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia Halal Lifestyle Center ( IHLC) and KainHalal™️. The FIVE designers from Indonesia that showcased:

1. Poppy Dharsono: For over 40 years this designer has captivated the public as a top-tier fashion designer, entrepreneur, and celebrity. Her impressive journey is marked not only by her creative talents but also by her triumphs as a businesswoman, driven by her resilience, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking. As an entrepreneur, Dharsono’s unwavering dedication to supporting, mentoring, and promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is truly inspiring. In 1993, she took her commitment a step further by founding the Indonesian Entrepreneur Fashion Designers Association, where she currently serves as President. This influential organisation is the force behind Indonesia Fashion Week, the nation’s most significant annual fashion event in Indonesia.

2. Jeny Tjahyawati: A renowned celebrity and award winning designer in the fashion industry and focusing mainly on Moslem fashion. In recent years the Moslem fashion industry has become one of the leading trend setting sectors. Based in Indonesia, Jeny has contributed to the rise of Moslem fashion which has now become an integral role in the Indonesian Fashion World making her collection one of the leading brands in the Indonesian industry. Jeny is also the writer of ‘Gaya Praktis Berkerudung’ (‘Simple Style for Hijab’ Look).

3. Uzy Fauziah: A ready to wear designer. Inspired by the love towards Indonesian traditional fabrics, Uzy Fauziah is passionate to uplift the beauty of Indonesian traditional fabrics through her collections. Using a local team of tailors, Batik Craftsmen and weavers.

4. Essy Masita: This brand is deeply committed to celebrating the rich diversity of traditional textiles from across the Indonesian archipelago. Through their distinctive and effortlessly chic designs, they aspire to seamlessly integrate these textiles into daily lives.

Their goal is to overcome the challenge of transforming traditional Indonesian textiles into a fashionable and accessible ready-to-wear collection that resonates with people from all walks of life and stay current with the ever evolving trends in fashion.

5. Torang Sitorus: This designer is currently seen as one of the champions (pioneers) who are active in advocating Ulos as cultural heritage in North Sumatra and abroad. ‘Ulos’ is the traditional Tenun fabric of the Batak people of North Sumatra in Indonesia. Different kinds of Ulos have different ceremonial significance.

The designer supports the craftsmanship of the Ulos weavers. He is aware that there are those who mass produce the Ulos which takes away the true meaning and essence. Torang Sitorus has been invited as a guest speaker to discuss the history and technique of this craftsmanship by Kompas Group, Idenesia Metro TV, CNN. Currently Torang Sitorus is preparing steps and strategies that involve the synergy of various stakeholders to submit Ulos as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
