Yesterday, designer Xinyin Xu presented her Spring/Summer 2018 Vicky Zhang collection featuring women’s and coordinating children’s evening wear, during New York Fashion Week at Skylight Clarkson Square.
The child models stole the show as they made their way down the runway in tailored blazers and ruffled dresses alongside similarly designed adult ensembles creating chic “mother and child” looks.

The Vicky Zhang (Vicky’Z) 2018 Spring/ Summer Collection was inspired by the Tang Dynasty seamlessly blending this high point of Chinese civilization with modern art.
Xu brought her couture sensibility to the creation of her parent & child collection incorporating Lotus flowers throughout to symbolize peace, love and harmony. Hollowed-out shading and beaded craftwork were special touches along with fine Chinese silks in gold, white and teal. Chinese embroidery, simple and delicate handwork brought the elegant collection to life.
About the Designer
Xinyin Xu, launched VICKY’Z after graduating from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2011. Inspired by and named for the designer’s four-year-old daughter, the brand combines traditional Chinese mores such as decency and determination, with those of a new generation, including rebellion and temerity. Ranging the heritage from simple, comfortable assemblages to intricate masterpieces reflecting an interest in continuing of silk Suzhou embroidery, the Vicky Zhang collection, is both traditional and modern, providing both mother and child the right outfit for every occasion.
With luxurious fabrics, matching ensembles, and fine tailoring, Vicky Zhang addresses the glamorous, young mother and daughter, and the dashing son alike, inspiring parents loving and expressive embrace of family life, with style, beauty, and pride. To encourage their children to know their worth and polish it.
The Vicky Zhang collection is available for purchase in Singapore, Canada, China and the USA with plans to expand to Europe next year.
