The World Takes the Runway: Fashion Week Studio Opens Its Paris S/S27 Journey

Following its Milan showcase, Fashion Week Studio brought its international S/S27 journey to Paris with the first of three presentations during Paris Fashion Week.

Set within the distinguished surroundings of Mairie du 15e Arrondissement, the showcase brought together designers whose work explored transformation, identity, cultural heritage, experimentation and the evolving language of contemporary fashion.

The opening Paris presentation moved across distinctly different creative worlds, from the dualities of WILDFRÄULEIN and the coastal inspirations of Mizuid to the sculptural experimentation of Kyle Denman and the cross-cultural perspective of WAURAT. Together, the designers demonstrated the breadth of voices that define Fashion Week Studio’s international platform.

WILDFRÄULEIN — A&D S’D’C’L

WILDFRÄULEIN’s A&D S’D’C’L examines the dualities that shape human experience. Angel and Demon, Shiny in the Dark and the Cycle of Love become interconnected ideas within a collection built around contradiction.

The collection suggests that what is visible is never the complete story. Light and darkness, attraction and tension, beginnings and cycles coexist as emotional forces, allowing fashion to capture moments of human experience rather than offering a single fixed interpretation.

DAWN BRADBURY DESIGNS

For Dawn Bradbury Designs, luxury is inseparable from freedom, movement and joy. The Virginia-based label transforms vibrant silks into kaftans, dresses, tops, sarongs and accessories designed to move effortlessly between resort days and elegant evenings.

Inspired by world travel, Caribbean landscapes, animals and the colors of sunsets, Dawn Bradbury’s designs carry a sense of effortless luxury rooted in comfort. Founded following the designer’s own journey through recovery, the brand also embodies resilience, faith and the belief that it is never too late
to pursue a creative calling.

MIZUID — AGAIN.

A shoreline becomes the emotional landscape for Mizuid’s SS27 collection, Again. Inspired by designer Mizuha Yamauchi’s photography of waves, changing light and footprints disappearing into the sand, the collection explores renewal and the courage to face forward once more.

Original prints, fluid forms, contrasting textures and fresh coastal colors create garments that balance artistic expression with everyday wearability. Like the shoreline itself, the collection exists in a constant state of movement.

TRIO COUTURE / TRIO BY ITAF

More than 35 years of experimentation inform the couture language of Trio by Itaf. What began with a childhood fascination for fabric, thread, paper, beads and other materials evolved into a distinctive approach to fashion built around creativity, craftsmanship and individuality.

Unexpected materials become sculptural details and tactile surfaces, blurring the line between clothing and art. From dresses once created for friends to an established couture house, Trio by Itaf demonstrates how imagination can develop into a lifelong creative language.

MID ESCAPE

MID ESCAPE examines the complicated relationship between beauty, perception and identity through the eyes of a new generation of young women.

The collection embraces distortion rather than rejecting it, treating individuality as something that can emerge from the very things society might consider imperfect. Tokyo’s eclectic beauty informs the opening looks, while the final looks draw upon Japanese resilience and quiet rebellion. Beauty becomes a form of self-definition — a weapon and an intimate act of resistance.

SOI. — THE FINAL SHAPE — CHRYSALIDE DE L’AUBE

What does it mean to be complete? SOI.’s The Final Shape — Chrysalide de l’Aube considers that question through the symbolism of the chrysalis.

Made-in-Japan fabrics and artisanal craftsmanship shape satin, organza and tulle that gently conceal, reveal and envelop the body. Layers shift, volumes flow and textures move as the woman within the collection remains in a state of becoming. She is not presented as finished, but as someone changing, growing and freely redefining herself.

ALGORITHM — THE COLLAPSE OF CHIRALITY

In The Collapse of Chirality, Algorithm looks toward the future by examining humanity’s relationship with memory and the planet.

Inspired by the idea of DNA carrying memories across generations, the collection translates the complexity of an algorithm into knitting and intricate construction. Direction, orientation and minute details become important parts of the visual language, creating garments that reward closer observation while asking a larger question: what memories will humanity leave behind for those who come next?

KYLE DENMAN

Greek mythology becomes a study of movement and suspension in Kyle Denman’s Paris presentation. The Los Angeles designer approaches fashion at the intersection of art, architecture and emotional storytelling.

Sculptural silhouettes, wire and mesh explore the space between rising and falling, giving the garments a theatrical quality that suggests flight, weightlessness and tension. The collection transforms the runway into a space where fashion appears suspended between earth and sky.

PAN AFRICAN LUXURY GROUP PRESENTATION

The Pan African Luxury Group presentation added another dimension to the September 29 program, celebrating distinctive perspectives and craftsmanship from across the African fashion landscape through the work of WAURAT and Gveny London.

WAURAT

Designer Mireille Waurat brings a deeply personal approach to fashion. Born in Côte d’Ivoire and raised in France, Waurat returned to fashion following a period of personal loss, eventually developing her craft through self-directed study before completing formal fashion training in Paris. Her journey from a modest background to establishing her own label is reflected in a design philosophy rooted in perseverance, heritage and creative purpose.

WAURAT’s creations draw on memory, heritage and everyday life in Côte d’Ivoire, expressed through materials, movement and craftsmanship alongside a contemporary sensibility. Varied textiles, ecological considerations and meticulous finishing create garments that function as a visual and sensory journey between cultures. Through the Pan African Luxury Group presentation, Waurat brought this dialogue between Ivorian heritage and modern fashion to the Paris runway.

GVENY LONDON

Gveny entered the Paris showcase with a design perspective shaped by the intersection of African heritage, couture craftsmanship and a commitment to more conscious fashion. Founded by Samuel Kaiser, the brand reflects a creative journey that began with art and self-expression before evolving into formal fashion training and an international career.

Kaiser’s work has earned recognition from Vogue and led to collaborations with notable names including Errol Douglas MBE, while Gveny has also dressed Miss Universe Great Britain Amy Willerton. Yet the brand’s story is defined as much by perseverance as achievement. Following a fire that destroyed the majority of his existing collections, Kaiser took a six-year hiatus from fashion before making his return at Paris Fashion Week in 2025. That return marked a new era for Gveny — one grounded in its heritage while looking firmly toward its next chapter on the international fashion stage.

The September 29 presentation established the tone for Fashion Week Studio’s Paris S/S27 season, bringing together designers whose work challenged conventional ideas of beauty, identity and selfexpression. From conceptual silhouettes and Japanese craftsmanship to African heritage and crosscultural design, the evening demonstrated the power of fashion to move between cultures while remaining deeply personal. At Mairie du 15e Arrondissement, Paris became a meeting point for designers united not by a single aesthetic, but by a shared commitment to creative freedom and storytelling.
