Patch Runway Show Berlin Fashion Week

As part of Berlin Fashion Week, a special event took place on July 4th: PATCH.

This collaborative fashion show highlighted young Berlin students who showcased the garments to a large audience in the historic sports hall of Willy-Brandt-Teamschule. They received a crash course in modeling, and within a few weeks, the show was ready. Students from the Creative Business Faculty of BSP Berlin organized this unique event under the guidance of professional stylist Gaelle Martin (PLATTE Berlin).

The goal was to offer the interested and voluntarily participating students a glimpse into the fashion world. Many walked the runway, had professional makeup and hairstyling, and got involved in the styling of the outfits. Others helped with entry, seating and guest management. The individual stories of the young students and their thoughts on fashion were shared at the beginning of the show. After that, the energetic music started, and they walked like it wasn´t their first time ever. Whether shy, curious, confident, extroverted – everyone was included and discovered new facets of themselves. We were repeatedly amazed by the talents that emerged in this environment and the feedback of the crowd was similar.

About the Fashion

The layered, versatile outfits had one thing in common: their individuality. Elegant garments, various materials, and unique cuts met classic street style elements. Just as diverse as the garments were the designers: fashion journalism, fashion marketing and sustainable fashion students combined their collections in 19 outfits, striving to cater to the models as much as possible. Unlike other shows, the models wore what they felt comfortable in. Heels and boots, hijabs and skirts, blazers and coats – there wasn´t much that the guests didn´t see on the runway. Picknweight and Irgendein Label also contributed caps to complete the looks.
