Snow Xue Gao S/S 2020 Collection Show at New York Fashion Week
The up-and-coming designer bring back the Teddy Girl Style and Early 70s in a modern way.
Fashion Designer Snow Xue Gao presented her spring summer 2020 womenswear collection on the 7th of September at her in-house atelier from 10am to 5pm, at Mid-town Manhattan in New York.
“Women are the most inspiration for me when I started this collection, I would love to dedicate this collection to all the women who fearless to love, rocking their own way, and enjoying freedom.” shares Gao.

The Collection
Time back to early 1970s, a group of young people through different culture expressing their voice to rebellious and challenging the society, such as bohemian’s flower power, punk and rock, teddy boy and girls. They were singing, creating, living in their cool way, and shaping out an aesthetic of their own. “Turn up a jacket and something to tie around your neck”, this is a signature look of teddy girl. They look smart, independent and unique. American pop art, punk music and everything about future, space age flooded around their life, and their attitude of challenging the tradition but concerning about the popular and mass culture.
In this spring/summer collection, SNOW XUE GAO tries to form a group of girls who love music that muses are Patti smith, Debbie harry, and Nico. Loving art, living in an attitude of love, peace, independent and curious and anticipating the future. Showing their identity looks are sharp and clean but also have the balance of feminine and masculine.

Snow Xue Gao is a luxury womenswear brand based in New York, Gao launched her eponymous label in 2017, following her debut collection at Parsons MFA show. Gao’s asymmetric draping and tailored line breaks away from conventional definitions of feminine and masculine. Influenced by her experience in the design department at Jason Wu and producing her collection under the tutelage of Martin Greenfield. Soon after her graduation, with a commercial develop of the same collection, she started selling globally and got invited showing on-schedule at New York Fashion Week. Gao was nominated for the LVMH Prize and the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list in 2018. She was triumphant in winning the Swarovski &Vogue Talents New Generation Award and Vfiles Runway.
