Six Days of International Design, Purpose-Driven Presentations and Standout Moments That Defined Spring/Summer 2027
Runway 7 concluded its 11th New York Fashion Week season after six days of Spring/Summer 2027 presentations at Sony Hall, bringing together 138 designers and brands representing 20 countries and territories.
The September edition reflected the continued growth of its international community, with collections spanning couture, ready-to-wear, eveningwear, streetwear, swim, bridal and accessories, and a lineup that placed established names alongside independent labels and emerging talent from around the world.
The season opened on September 8 with Elysian’s CatWalk FurBaby, setting an energetic tone for the week as dogs appeared alongside models in a showcase that brought fashion and animal advocacy onto the same stage. Charlii Sebunya served as Master of Ceremonies. The combination of couture, canine appearances and advocacy quickly became one of the season’s most memorable moments, drawing a strong response from the audience throughout the night. The event also welcomed notable figures from entertainment and culture, including WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, while Matthew Dillon joined the presentation by walking alongside one of the dogs, adding to an opening night defined by creativity, advocacy and unexpected moments.
On September 9, the program continued with a focus on fashion, community and social awareness. With additional support from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), HIV Unwrapped presented a private showcase centered on HIV research, lived experience and community voices, using the runway to challenge stigma and bring greater awareness to an ongoing global health conversation. Hosted by Emmy and GLAAD Media Award-winning journalist, broadcaster and HIV activist Karl Schmid, the event brought together creative expression and advocacy, with a special appearance by Peppermint, whose presence reinforced the night’s message of visibility and inclusion. Across the day, 26 brands and presentations took the runway: Grant Glazier, Mazette Wigs, Nupe Valley, Abeke Designs, Antra Vegas, SAIFI, The Kallee Jackson Threaded Legacy Foundation, Roughplay, Constella Davis, Fenix, RIH. On September 10, the program shifted toward unexpected creative perspectives. Morgan & Morgan made its runway debut with an original avant-garde presentation inspired by the experience of personal injury, translating that subject into a fashion narrative built through dramatic silhouettes, visual symbolism and a more conceptual approach to the runway. The evening continued with designer Alejandro de los Reyes, whose embellished gowns, artisanal craftsmanship and pageant-inspired couture took center stage. His show featured an all-Colombian cast of models and beauty titleholders, including representatives from Miss Cartagena, Teen Universe Colombia and Miss Teen International Colombia, reinforcing the growing presence of Latin American design and talent within the season’s international lineup. A total of 26 brands presented throughout the day: Ariahwolf, Marsol Atelier, LA by Lina Alfaouri, Ashley Rae Ltd, Lady Ash Design, Yvie Style It, Influence Athleisure, Swaroop Collections, iNava5, KEED & CO., Hilia Swim, Work to be Fashion, NIA, Luna May, LC Couture 2, So Like You, CHICK 1, Lesperance, BYFELLER, Veritée Hill, Alejandro de los Reyes, Mr CRAZY & Lady SEXY, Áurea Argentina, Dream Dress Bridal and Amaya Butrón.
On September 12, the runway transformed into a theatrical stage with Project Lab Coat’s Le Cœur en Scène, an immersive couture experience inspired by the elegance and drama of European cabaret. The production combined couture, live performance and personal narratives as models presented lab coats reimagined as artistic expressions of resilience and hope, each representing different experiences connected to cancer awareness. Presented in collaboration with the Prevent Cancer Foundation and featuring participation through the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance, the night created one of the season’s most emotional moments by placing personal stories at the center of the program. Digital creator and entertainer Ondreaz López also drew attention from the front row, adding another cultural presence to a night shaped by creativity, entertainment and advocacy.
Later that evening at 9 p.m., Creators Inc. presented CI Swimwear in a high-energy showcase that brought together swimwear, creator talent and live entertainment. The runway featured Mikaela Lafuente, Sol Dean and Amora Cacheé, while performances by Max B and TKANDZ added a music-driven element to the night. The combination of fashion, live performance and digital personalities gave the 9 p.m. show a distinctly entertainment-led character within the September 12 program.
