Rouba G Paris Fashion Week FW18
Rouba G captivated the guests at the Intercontinental Le Grand for her exclusive show last night in Paris. She presented her collection, Dragon Dawn, which embodied a sea of jewel tones that blended seamlessly to whimsical pastels with a mix of glimmering floor length gowns, midi-length gowns, one-piece jumpers, separates and short cocktail dresses.
The show began with a green story featuring ruffle sleeve details and sheer panel floor length skirts. Standout pieces included a floor length seafoam green gown with exaggerated puff sleeves that appeared to modernize the Edwardian puffed sleeve trend and a shift dress handcrafted from metallic leather triangular pieces in the color stories of the collection that felt like an inspired “dragon scale” dress in the chicest way possible.
Plum evening gowns glided down the runway with perfectly place sheer panels and ruffled sleeve details that mimicked dragon spikes, which flowed into soft pale pink tulles and chiffon gowns creating an ethereal feel.
The designer brought elegance and glamour to the runway in the beautiful rotunda of the space with a creative and unique twist on the traditional runway configuration, having models walk in a circular motion around the room.
