Qasimi Spring Summer ’20 Collection

Qasimi Spring Summer ’20 Collection

Represented by Karla Otto.

Against a backdrop of ongoing political tension in the Middle East, Qasimi presents a collection built around the idea of an urban nomad and a Utopian future for Spring / Summer 2020, imbued with a sense of lightness and positivity.

This mood informs the sun-bleached colour palette, which this season takes inspiration from the designer’s childhood in the United Arab Emirates.

Military influences are felt in the fabrics, military canvas, heavy twills and ripstops. Riveted garments mimic the nuts and bolts of armoured fighting vehicles juxtaposed against mesh and quilting.

Tailoring – minimal, relaxed and effortless – forms an integral part of the collection.

Overall, the Spring / Summer 2020 collection is sensitive and sensual, created with the idea that there is strength in vulnerability in mind. It’s a light and positive collection designed for these dark, somewhat turbulent times.
