Puppets and Puppets Presents S/S 2020 Runway Show
Represented by Gia Kuan.
Artists Carly Mark and Ayla Argentina showcased Puppets and Puppets’ Spring/Summer 2020 collection at the iconic Prince George Ballroom in New York City. Season 2 focused on the intersection between Czar vestments and archetypal American capitalist uniform. Exploring the space between the two time periods, the collection dives into a fantasy of collusion, downfall, and what we call democracy. Inspiration was pulled from various realms, including Russian Faberge Eggs, the legend of Anastasia, and Brett Easton Ellis’ American Psycho. Mark and Argentina’s storytelling runs deep, with a haunting performance set to the regal backdrop of the beaux-arts style ballroom, capturing the character and life of the clothes as they move.
Amongst attended were Vere Van Gool, Chloe Wise, Logan Jackson, Sasha Melnychuck, Sara Hiromi, Ruby Aldridge, Paige Kozak, David Moses, Sasha Frolova, Nick Sethi, Massima Desire, and Caroline Polachek, Courtney Trop, Niki Takesh, Raffaella Hanley, Tia Jonnson, Vanna Youngstein, Stephanie LaCava, Ruth Gruca, Tali Lennox, Jeanette Hayes, and Audrey Gelman.
