NOTHING NINE Presents “Everything From Nothing” in Paris From Emptiness, a New Chapter Unfolds in Paris

TDuring Paris Fashion Week, NOTHING NINE officially unveiled its latest collection under the theme “Everything From Nothing” at the Salle d’Honneur, the central ceremonial hall of the Musée de l’Armée in Paris.

The presentation marks another important moment for the brand on the international fashion stage following Milan Fashion Week, and a new milestone in its global development.

A Century-Old Ceremonial Hall Opens to Fashion for the First Time: A Contemporary Dialogue Within History

The Musée de l’Armée is steeped in French national history and official ceremony, with exacting standards governing heritage conservation and venue approval. At the heart of the complex, the Salle d’Honneur is its highest-ranking ceremonial hall, long reserved for official state occasions and never before used for a fashion presentation; major international fashion shows at the Invalides have historically taken place in the surrounding grounds. After a rigorous six-month approval process, NOTHING NINE became the first designer brand globally, and the first Chinese designer brand, to enter the Salle d’Honneur for a fashion show, inaugurating the historic hall’s first fashion presentation in a century. Rooted in the Taoist concept of “emptiness,” the brand’s aesthetic enters into dialogue with the historical order embodied by the setting, creating an exchange across time and cultures and lending deeper site-specific meaning to the contemporary expression of “Everything From Nothing.”

From Milan to Paris: An Evolution of a Philosophical Narrative

Beginning with “Nothing,” Giving Rise to Everything: An Exploration of Taoist Thought Through Design
At the heart of the show is “Everything From Nothing,” continuing the philosophical trajectory established with the Milan presentation, “Nothing is Everything,” and further developing the Taoist idea of creation emerging from emptiness within a contemporary fashion context. If Milan explored the static paradox that emptiness itself contains infinite possibility, Paris advances the narrative toward a dynamic question: how does form emerge and grow from nothing? Together, the two chapters complete a conceptual arc from “nothing” to “something,” closely echoing the core symbolism of the name NOTHING NINE.

Founder and Creative Director Chloe translates Eastern philosophy into a tangible fashion language rather than an abstract proposition. A seemingly minimalist dress reveals intricate three-dimensional embroidery in motion; clean silhouettes unfold into richly layered textile textures; and subtle animal-inspired imagery appears through hand-drawn lines and tonal patterns concealed within the fabric, introducing an untamed natural energy beneath the collection’s refined surface. This season, the collection builds from a minimalist foundation, using rich juxtapositions and combinations of colour to create progressive visual layers, further intensified through intricate craftsmanship and a diverse interplay of materials. Exclusive linings were also developed for the Paris looks, drawing light, shadow, lines and structure from Parisian nights and cathedral architecture and translating these city impressions into visual narratives concealed within the garments. Paris is not presented through literal symbols, but revealed only in fleeting details as hems move and silhouettes shift. Through restraint and negative space, the understated sensibility of Eastern thought is brought into dialogue with the textures of Paris, allowing a new aesthetic expression to emerge at the intersection of different cultural contexts.

Interpreting the Growth from “Nothing” to “Something” Through Couture Craftsmanship

From Textile Origins to Handcraft: Building the Brand’s Aesthetic Language
Drawing on more than a decade of colour research, Founder and Creative Director Chloe extends her creative
practice into textile development and full-category design. This season, the brand collaborated with century-old textile mills in France and Italy, participating in bespoke development from yarn selection and weaving onward. Couture techniques including beading, featherwork, textile reconstruction and hand painting give the materials renewed vitality. Layering, material contrasts and shifts in proportion run throughout the collection, allowing craftsmanship to move beyond decoration and become part of NOTHING NINE’s “Everything From Nothing” design narrative.

Special Tribute: From “Window and Light” to Wearable Art

This season, “Window and Light,” an artwork created at the age of six by Naomi, daughter of Founder and Creative Director Chloe, introduces another expression of the collection’s “Everything From Nothing” narrative. The work began on an ordinary afternoon, when sunlight passed through a gridded glass window and cast shifting, dissolving patterns across the floor, which Naomi recorded in pure blocks of colour. The brand further transformed this instinctive artistic inspiration, born from everyday observation, into a bespoke textile, allowing the colours and light of the two-dimensional artwork to leave the canvas and become art that can be touched, worn and set in motion on the Paris runway.

An International Journey: From a Domestic E-commerce Brand to the Global Runway

The Paris show marks another important step in NOTHING NINE’s global development, following its participation in “CHINA SELECT @ TRANOI PARIS” in 2024 and its appearance on the official Milan Fashion Week calendar in 2025, alongside the expansion of its European buyer network. From a Paris showroom to Milan Fashion Week and now a return to Paris for its own runway presentation, NOTHING NINE continues to clarify its positioning and long-term direction while advancing from a founder-led model toward a more brand-driven structure. The SS27 Spring/Summer show marks a new starting point for the brand’s international development and the continued articulation of its aesthetic vision.

About NOTHING NINE

Rooted in the Taoist concept of “emptiness,” NOTHING NINE explores the dynamic tension between being and nonbeing, leaving space for infinite imagination. The brand translates this philosophy into a contemporary fashion language that moves beyond established stylistic conventions, using restrained lines, bespoke textiles and precise craftsmanship to construct a composed, self-contained aesthetic. In recent years, NOTHING NINE has continued to collaborate with century-old European textile mills, expanding from fabric selection into the targeted development of proprietary materials. Through original design, material innovation and elevated craftsmanship, the brand is building a distinctive visual narrative of its own.
