Nadia Manjarrez Bridal Fall 2024 Collection

Nadia and her husband exchanged vows in La Lomita, a church in Mexico, adorned with stained glass windows depicting the story of Virgin Maria de Guadalupe (The Mexican Virgin). The story begins when the Virgin asks a farmer, Juan Diego, to carry some flowers down to the town below for her. When he dropped off the flowers to the town, the image of the Virgin materialized revealing her existence to the world.

Nadia Manjarrez’s Fall/Winter 2024 Collection draws inspiration from stained glass windows, like the one of the Virgin Maria de Guadalupe at La Lomita. These religious references translate literally in certain gown details and figuratively in sweet, nostalgic silhouettes and fabrications seen throughout the collection.

“I grew up attending a traditional church, religion has always been a significant aspect of my cultural and family life. During my childhood, our Sundays revolved around church, followed by a family breakfast. I spent every Sunday gazing at those stained-glass windows.” Nadia Manjarrez reflects.

The tale in La Lomita’s windows directly translates in the Matilde Gown with cascading applique flowers and 3D Maxi Floral Veil. Another direct translation from the windows can be seen in the Jeanette gown, a silk organza gown with contrasting black floral embroidery reminiscent of the black grisaille paint used in stained glass. This season also put an emphasis on seams, particularly in corsets to create lines representing the unexpected breaks in stained glass.

With a continued focus on modular and transformative designs, the collection includes a zip-off mermaid skirt that converts into a mini dress as seen in the Emy Gown, corseted tops designed to be paired with a ball skirt or pant or mini skirt, and long-sleeve lace toppers shown tucked within a strapless gown, designed to give the bride a more traditional conservative look for the ceremony and can then easily be removed revealing a simple strapless gown.

The Fall/Winter 2024 Collection coincides with the opening of Nadia Manjarrez Bridal’s first, by-appointment-only, NYC Showroom. The showroom will have this collection, past seasons, and bestsellers for brides to try on during scheduled appointments beginning Saturday, October 14, 2023.
