Chao has studied art history at La Sorbonne, fashion history at Studio Berçot where he graduated in 2011, meanwhile he also mastered a training at the Maison Lesage in Haute Couture embroideries. In 2013, he joined Hermès as a stylist assistant in the bags and luggage department. Liu Chao was eager to offer a read-to-wear range of clothes to an international clientele, marrying his love for highend fabrics and his sensitiveness to the French know-how, he created his eponymous brand. In 2016 he was willing to go creatively further, displaying his admiration for the Métiers d’Art, his fashion’s vision and the technicality of his skills.

Chao proposes a “Couture-to Wear” wardrobe: a day couture, contemporary and uninhibited. His new collection explores Noah’s Ark revisited 18 creations. Fantastic animals and luxurious gardens will become a living reality in this unusual automotive environment.

This collaboration is the result from a meeting between the Couture and the luxury Automotive universes which share common values: Asian origin, the work with high-end materials, innovation in traditions’ respect and craftsmanship. The collection preview pictures has been photographed at Lexus by Xiangyu Liu. Car trunk, dealership office and specific lights stand there.

For this event, Lexus LS 500h, the last creation of the brand will be revealed, the output of a collaboration between the design and the engineer teams of Lexus. This new model offers a unique luxury approach, using the traditional Japanese esthetic both inside and outside. The inside design of the car is a blend of tradition and innovation, working on luxurious material such as the wood with its laser etching. The car cabin beats back the luxury limits’ proposing the passengers as much serenity as comfort. Outside, the Lexus LS 500h has a very elegant and slender silhouette four-door coupé. Beyond being a large luxury sedan, this car has a hybrid engine, particularly ecological.

Liu Chao, the Couturier:

“It is a real honor for me to collaborate with Lexus. The craftsmanship spirit is what gathers us in this collaboration. Each Lexus car is considered as a Haute Couture piece. It is a very successful blend of design, know-how and craftsmanship. I am proud to present you my new collection during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week at the same time than the launch of the Lexus LS 500h.”

Olivier Bénicourt, the Lexus Director for the group COMO:

“We hoped to gather both of our universes, which immerse people in a dreamlike world.”
