L’ENVOL: A Poem of Freedom and Elegance by Ziad Nakad for Couture Fall-Winter 2026-27

Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad presents his Fall-Winter 2026–2027 couture collection under the title “L’Envol” (French for flight) in a poetic invitation to escape the noise of life and return to nature, where true freedom begins.

Composed of 34 pieces, the collection draws its inspiration from the bird in flight: a creature that embodies freedom, departure, and the journey toward new adventures. Through this collection, Nakad translates the sensation of soaring into refined designs that celebrate lightness and strength for the woman of today, as though each gown carries a story of success and creativity, with wings ready to rise to the highest summits.

For the setting of the shoot, the designer once again returned to his homeland, Lebanon, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of its landscape. He chose a region, high in the mountains, as the stage for unveiling the collection. This choice was far from accidental; it was intended to embody a message of resilience and grandeur, as the Lebanese mountains symbolize strength and steadfastness in the face of challenges. The scenery also reflects the deep bond between human beings and nature, reaffirming the importance of returning to one’s roots and seeking serenity far from the noise of life.

In a majestic visual tableau, the models appear amid the Lebanese mountains in designs that merge modernity and elegance, harmonizing with the surrounding nature. The garments become an extension of the ideas of elevation, stability, and freedom. The collection culminates in a wedding gown distinguished by the lightness of its flow and its quiet simplicity, revealing a discreet refinement far from excess. It embodies a vision of natural elegance built on softness and grace.

The designs evoke the world of birds through fluid cuts and intricate details. Some gowns feature multiple layers that create a sense of movement and lightness, while others reveal delicately embroidered bird motifs that seem almost alive. Mermaid silhouettes also appear throughout the collection, expressing femininity and sophistication, with fabrics falling effortlessly to enhance the beauty of the figure. The materials range from sumptuous velvet and crystal to touches of leather, with details that bring a contemporary and daring dimension to the designs. The creative vision is completed with Swarovski stones specially designed for this collection, transforming each piece into a complete work of art where refined craftsmanship meets innovation.

The color palette harmonizes with the spirit of nature, embracing shades of navy, brown, burgundy, and green in its many variations, a blend that brings together femininity, movement, and imagination.
