The exhibition included signature abstract artworks featuring Augmented Reality in collaboration with Studio 46 Barcelona
Colombian Contemporary Artist Juliana Plexxo debuted her interactive art exhibition “Juliana Plexxo X Studio 46 Barcelona – A Contemporary Art Exhibition” featuring Augmented Reality (AR) during Miami’s Art Week 2023.
The exhibition, in collaboration with Studio 46 Barcelona, sponsored by Source Protocol and powered by One of Us, took place on Friday-Sunday, December 1-10, 2023 at National Hotel Miami Beach. The 10-day immersive experience included 5 pop-up events each encompassing different elements of art and technology along with unique networking opportunities, a private gala, live performances, and a meet-and-greet with the artist herself, Juliana Plexxo.
Throughout the events, guests immersed themselves in the unique, visionary universe of Juliana Plexxo, as she shared her commitment for merging traditional and contemporary art though her latest collection “Rhythm.” Studio 46, deemed as one of the most important art spaces globally, has featured renowned artists such as Joan Miro, Salvador Dalí, Tapies, and now Juliana Plexxo continuing in this esteemed path.
Plexxo’s many accolades include the “Best Young Talent” award nomination by the University of Berkeley, California and the Forbes’ 2022 list of the 50 most creative people. Her work is infused by her cultural heritage and her distinctive process in creating only one-of-a-kind works of art. With an artistic process entirely unique to this era, her exhibition experience bought her cubism style to Miami and featured her learned techniques with an AR immersive twist.
“In a world dominated by digital technology, it’s more important than ever to preserve traditional artistic techniques. As an artist dedicated to the craft of engraving, I am committed to reviving this fading art form and showcasing its beauty and intricacy to a new generation of art lovers,” Plexxo said.
Additionally, Plexxo has become a driving force for Latin women in the industry by being one of the few Latin artists calling Studio 46 Barcelona her workplace. “As a female artist, I am dedicated to breaking down barrier and shattering stereotypes to empower women in the art world. Through my work, I aim to challenge the status quo and create a more inclusive and diverse space for all artists to thrive,” says Plexxo.
The event kicked off on December 1 with the official opening of the art exhibition at 6 p.m. followed by a special meet and greet presentation by Juliana Plexxo herself on December 4 at the same time. A black-tie networking night hosted by Source Protocol on December 7 at 7 p.m. served as an opportunity for guests to enhance their connections in the art and tech industries while celebrating the launch of Source Protocol. The same night also included a presentation and live art performance from Plexxo at 8 p.m..
On the closing night of December 9 at 6 p.m., a private PR and networking extravaganza welcomed 250 art and innovation enthusiasts and included a captivating, interactive live art performance by Plexxo, a musical performance by a live DJ, and an all-inclusive catered experience featuring a stunning outdoor location at the National Hotel.
