This May, Fashion AI Expo arrives in Cannes for a special edition dedicated to the intersection of fashion, artificial intelligence and immersive innovation.
From May 17 to 22, Fashion AI Expo will present a curated series of experiences, installations and collaborations exploring the future of fashion storytelling, digital identity and next-generation luxury presentation formats during one of the world’s most influential cultural moments – the Cannes Film Festival.
Fashion AI Expo
Bringing together technology companies, designers, creatives and media, the project aims to demonstrate how AI-powered tools and immersive experiences are reshaping the way fashion is presented, discovered and experienced globally.
IMMERSIVE VIRTUAL SHOWROOM EXPERIENCE BY OPENMALL
As part of this special edition, Fashion AI Expo is partnering with OpenMall – an immersive
AI-powered 3D commerce platform redefining the future of digital retail experiences.
Together, Fashion AI Expo and OpenMall have created a virtual showroom experience featuring selected designer partners and curated red carpet looks presented within a fully immersive digital environment. Through VR exploration, guests will be able to navigate the showroom, discover virtual fashion pieces and experience collections in a completely new interactive format.
The project demonstrates how virtual showrooms can become a powerful tool for fashion brands by extending global accessibility, increasing audience engagement and allowing collections to exist beyond the limitations of physical presentation.
For emerging and established brands alike, immersive digital environments create new opportunities for storytelling, visibility, audience interaction and international exposure.
The presentation of the virtual showroom experience will take place within the new Cannes showroom space of Thalie Paris – an eco-luxury accessories brand pioneering sustainable luxury through handbags and accessories crafted from recycled marine leather and vegan cactus materials in prestigious French ateliers.
ASTRIA COLLABORATION – AI-POWERED VIRTUAL EDITORIAL
Fashion AI Expo is also partnering with Astria, an innovative generative AI company specializing in high-quality visual creation technologies for fashion and creative industries.
Together, the teams developed a virtual editorial project integrating partner brands’ fashion pieces into AI-generated editorial environments and thematic visual worlds. Using advanced generative technologies, garments were digitally integrated onto AI model placed within cinematic, custom-created locations inspired by the aesthetics of Cannes, luxury fashion and future digital culture.
The collaboration explores new possibilities for editorial production, allowing brands to create visually sophisticated campaigns with greater creative flexibility, scalability and speed while opening entirely new forms of visual storytelling.
The virtual editorial feature selected pieces from the following designer partners: Oliver Weber, Aysina, Thalie, BY GAIL, Elena Perseil, 21SIX, Eddie Corps, Semenenko, EPPS, Serena B, Kenzel, FAIR BLVD, Gustave Eiffel Champagne.
Part of the immersive virtual try-on and showroom experience will also take place within the space of United Fashion Designers (UFD), a Paris-based fashion platform and creative showroom supporting independent designers, emerging talent and cross-disciplinary collaborations within the contemporary fashion industry.
LISTEN TO HER PAROLE – GALA DINNER & ROUNDTABLE
On May 18, Fashion AI Expo will also participate in a special gala evening and roundtable discussion in partnership with Listen To Her Parole – an international initiative dedicated to empowering women’s voices, leadership and representation through culture, dialogue and global collaboration.
As partners and participants, the Fashion AI Expo team is proud to support the project’s mission and contribute to discussions surrounding innovation, creativity and the future of female leadership across fashion, media and technology.
The immersive experience will further extend into the showroom space of BJS House Productions, where visitors will be able to discover the fusion between digitally presented fashion experiences and physically showcased designer pieces.
By combining immersive technologies with physical garments and showroom presentation, the project highlights a hybrid future where digital and physical fashion experiences coexist to create more engaging and globally connected luxury environments.
