Neocolors Productions & Advertising International Inc. takes pride in successfully staging FABULOUS PHILIPPINES: A Perfect Wedding Destination—the company’s biggest collaboration with two of the country’s most respected and internationally-recognized fashion designers who have consistently brought pride and created significant contributions to the local fashion industry.
This is the first time for our Philippine-based fashion designers to be part of New York Fashion Week Bridal Collection. It was also a great opportunity for Filipino designers to shine and be recognized among the best in the world as we present world-class collections by Albert Andrada and Barge Ramos.

BARGE RAMOS
Best remembered for his modern-day innovations on the traditional Barong Tagalog, Barge has created handwoven, hand-embroidered ecclesiastical vestments as a formal gift of the Philippine government to the Holy See. He has authored a coffee-table book, “Pinoy Dressing, Weaving Culture into Fashion” which won the prestigious Gintong Aklat Award.

Perfume and Incense was his 2019 Collection for Fabulous Philippines, a mix of handwoven fabrics, embroidery, handpainting, religious medals, and escapularios. His 25-piece collection for men and women, all inspired from the Philippine Barong Tagalog, transports the viewer into a spiritual time and place. He describes it as “In the world but not of the world.” Literally it is like entering a church, wearing one’s perfumed garments which are suffused with the scent of incense.
“It’s a concept that has been gestating in my mind for sometime. And now it has become a reality in New York. St. Patrick’s Cathedral has always been my idea of New York. It was the first place I visited on my very first trip to New York. Amidst all the changing fashion, art installations, museums, musicals and restaurants, the constant solid ground for me has always been St. Patrick’s.”
ALBERT ANDRADA
Having worked in the Middle East as the personal fashion designer to royalty at the Fujairah Ruler’s Palace for two decades, Andrada has skillfully developed his own distinctive design aesthetics, that blends elegance with an unmistakable hint of extravagance. In Manila, Andrada is the designer of choice for the well-heeled women of high society. To date, his most memorable and popular design is the iconic royal blue gown for Pia Wurtzbach in the Miss Universe pageant.

“I’ve always had a fascination for the Spanish period in Philippine History, the Filipino women dressed in European fashion, blending traditional silhouettes with foreign details and accessories. These are the women characters I remember in the novels of Jose Rizal. For my 2019 Collection for Fabulous Philippines, I came up with my own interpretation of modern-day gowns and dresses, inspired by Spain and the Philippines. Inamorata is Andrada’s vision of a woman in love. His bridal collection is a mélange of luxurious fabrics like silk, lace, jusi, and illusion tulle. His embroidery statement is inspired by the intricate “solihiya” technique. Hues of ivory, gray, blush, and silver are masterfully mixed and blended to infuse an ethereal freshness to his collection. He says, “These are my visions now of the contemporary Filipina on the most memorable day in her life.”
The event showcasing the best of the Philippines was featured in an exhibit at the lobby of the Philippine Center, 5th Avenue, New York from April 11 to 12, 2019 and culminated with a grand fashion show on April 13, 2019, 7 P.M. at one of the grandest fashion show venues in New York City— Landmark on the Park, 160 Central Park West, New York, NY.
FABULOUS PHILIPPINES’ beneficiary is EDUCARE FOR LIFE INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION which aims to provide college scholarships to deserving high school graduates, as well as medical assistance, and disaster response and relief operations in times of calamities.
