BLDWN Fall 2019 Collection

BLDWN Fall 2019 Collection

Represented By PurplePR.

Fall 2019 BLDWN womenswear summons the spirit of bohemian glamour juxtaposing classic fabrications while experimenting with color, pattern, and proportion for an effortless cool that is simultaneously subversive and aristocratic.

From the undeniable allure of Nico of the Velvet Underground and Edie Sedgewick of Factory fame to the subdued ladylike coolness of socialites Lee Radziwill and Bianca Jagger, Fall 2019 revisits femininity across decades of sexy and powerful looks. BLDWN once again brings forward a collection that articulates the specific and elusive cool of each.

Fall 2019 BLDWN menswear reinterprets traditional workwear with an elevated approach to utility and craft underscored by a whisper of nostalgic art world culture. Functionality takes center stage with references to the practicality of the rebellious life of artists, musicians, and movements of the late 60s and early 70s and builds as that classicism is injected with the attitudes of contemporary style.

Modular clothes, designed to fit together in layers give range to a thoughtful edit of perfectly designed outerwear from garment dyed military jackets to contrast stitch windbreakers and unlined suede shirt jackets, each with smart signature nickel snaps. Statement plaids and warm, familiar colors make the collection transgenerational speaking to the experience of any time and age, adding value to the sentiment.

This season marks the third collection under rebrand from Baldwin to BLDWN, reinterpreting modern American design with a ready-to-wear collection of men’s and women’s staples influenced by pillars of art, architecture, design, and photography greats. Under the new direction the collection has shifted enough to always feel modern and new while still recognizably BLDWN.
