David Koma Fall 2018: London Fashion Week

David Koma London Fashion Week FW18

Bridging the gap between old and new, the David Koma Autumn/Winter 2018 collection maintained his traditional undertone of sportiness while looking to new beginnings.

Koma ventured beyond familiar references in a stunning show set in a 300-year-old London church. The models paraded through the humble settings adorned with fringing. Elaborate beadwork and various representations of plumage accented the outfits. Koma incorporated his own Georgian and Russian cultural roots into his collection, as well as traditional Native American tribal dress as seen in Edward Curtis’ nineteenth century ethnographic photography.

The collection was a tasteful amalgamation of tribal decoration, exquisitely tailored leather, delicate silk lace dresses and futuristic embellishment.

Undeniable glamour exuded from both the collection and the front row. Supermodels Jourdan Dunn and Lara Stone stepped out in support of the former Thierry Mugler artistic director. Dunn dressed in a stunning frilled tuxedo jacket from the David Koma Spring/Summer 2018 collection. It was one of those powerful collections where onlookers gazed adoringly at every piece. They could envision each must-own item as a very much welcomed addition to any discerning individual’s stylish repertoire.
