Amy Thomson Fall 2018: London Fashion Week

Amy Thomson London Fashion Week FW18

What do you want to be when you grow up? Children are always asked that, aren’t they? Amy Thomson answers the question in her colorful and playful presentation “Chasin’ Dreams.” Eight complete looks present some of her childhood dreams – a Princess (doesn’t everyone want that at some point?), a baker, a hairdresser, they are diverse and, yes, playful.

Amy uses a feminine palette of fuschias, baby pinks, vibrant rose to contrast with royal blues and lilacs. Textiles are also played with, including metallic leather, and she adds silks, faux furs, frills, ribbons and bows.

Amy explains “Telling a narrative and connecting with an audience is very important. Chasin’ Dreams is based on real muses, real stories and my own and there is no story truer than the one you’re living.”

We’re glad that Amy grew up to be a designer, and here she is for the first time at London Fashion Week living the dream! An inspiration to us all!
