This debut runway collection, titled NIGHTWALKING, examines the 12 minute walk made every night returning home late from my studio in Bethnal Green back to my flat in Spitalfields, East London.
It is an examination of the allure of restless nightcrawling, of overcoats worn braced against cold city wind, and of juxtaposed cultures and characters found on either end of Bethnal Green Road.
From the ruins of Spitalfields’ silk industry, to the modern capital clad in black sportswear. Beneath cold streetlights, silk and nylon glisten just the same, and time, just briefly, might stand still.
