Taipei Fashion Week SS25: Bold Styles and Vibrant Art Unite!

The Ministry of Culture of Taiwan proudly announces Taipei Fashion Week SS25, set to unfold from October 17 to October 21 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. This season’s theme, “Taiwan Type Illustrated Fashion Book,” promises an exciting exploration of Taiwan’s rich fashion culture, focusing on the dynamic interplay between everyday life and artistic expression.

Minister of Culture, Li, Yuan, emphasizes the holistic nature of culture, stating, “Food, clothing, residence, and transportation are all integral parts of our cultural identity.” This philosophy underpins Taipei Fashion Week SS25, where designers will draw from Taiwan’s historical narratives, cultural vibrancy, and contemporary aesthetics to create innovative fashion pieces. The event aims to elevate local fashion, showcasing designs that resonate not just within Taiwan, but also on global platforms.

A Playful Collaboration with IP Art

On Oct 17th, the group show titled “Taiwan Type Illustrated Fashion Book,”which showcases the collaborative spirit between designers and popular IP illustrators. Six emerging designers have teamed up with six talented illustrators, merging fashion with creative artistry. This collaboration highlights the exciting possibilities that arise when fashion intersects with graphic design, bringing Gen Z’s vibe and energy to the runway.

Story Wear x @chimney_animation transforms old materials into elements that nurture the future, fostering a beautiful and sustainable fashion industry. The collection “ONE” embodies the essence of artist Fish Wang’s signature “Orange color,” evoking the twilight glow of a bygone era and setting the tone with PANTONE hues that run throughout the entire line.TANGTSUNGCHIEN x @sammi_00712 draws inspiration from Xia Xian’s whimsical illustrations, incorporating Taiwan’s unique natural landscapes and urban scenes—like sun, mountain views, and ferns—into relaxed silhouettes that blend playful graphics and textures, resulting in vibrant garments that reflect the spirit of Taiwan’s urban culture and youth.

Creating Connections Through Fashion

The opening show will not only cater to exclusive guests but will also feature a public continuation, reinforcing the theme that fashion is essential to everyone’s daily lives. In addition to the runway presentations, the exhibition “Taiwan Type Super Swag,” hosted from October 17 to October 21, will highlight the co-creation process, allowing visitors to appreciate the deep connection between fashion design and artistic illustration among the younger generation.
