Represented by Fashion Scout.

This season Moldovian brand Constanzia Yurashko is showcasing with Fashion Scout for the first time. Constanzia Yurashko is the brainchild of designer Constantia Iurasco-Andries.

After spending time working in the fashion industry in London, Constantia moved back to Moldova to start her own label. Constanzia Yurashko is a luxury womenswear brand with a sustainable ethos. Her collections always ‘tell a story’ and these stories are usually autobiographical.

Constantia’s artistic influences are inspired by, and an expression of, the different attitudes, emotions and feelings she experiences. This attitude might be inspired by: a person, a painting, a photograph or simply a feeling or mood.

Constantia says, “My aim is for the clothing to speak to the whole world about the person wearing them. The clothing defines who they are as a character. It is very important to understand the garment’s physical and non-physical idea and purpose.”

The brand’s signature style is feminine clothing with a strong tailored look. The clothing can be dressed up or down depending on the wearer’s mood or the occasion. Constantia often takes inspiration from different fashion periods and combines them to create new works of art.

THE ABYSS Collection for Spring Summer 2020 – follows her storytelling narrative. Every piece is unique and has an autobiographical emotional connection. Constantia describes this collection as “ a move forward for me. It is a mature version of myself. The collection is different from what I’ve done before. I found inspiration and mood for the collection in the black garments of the Victorian era. I wanted to combine an aristocratic appearance with the darker attributes of the era. This tension anchored the atmosphere and feeling of the entire collection.”

“My work for this specific collection involves lots of care and attention to details. All the embellishments, including the fabric textures, were made by hand here in our atelier.

I am very excited to be launching our first menswear line. I’ve always wanted to do both womenswear and menswear. The new collection provided the perfect moment to do it. I am pleased with the result and feel a sense of fulfillment and completion.”

Constanzia Yurashko designs and produces timeless pieces that are made to last. Her clothes become much loved wardrobe staples. Constantia’s brand only uses 100% natural fabrics of the highest quality. She is committed to domestic production. Her workshops are mostly female owned. All the garments are made by hand and the workers receive fair pay in good working conditions.
