Recognition literally means “to think of again.” And that’s mainly our goal here. (And, truth be told, we’re not sure how much energy we’re going to have to keep doing this every season.) So — even though we think it’s obvious — we’re going to say it anyway. Our recognitions are not a definitive judgement.
These are our opinions, and they are subjective. There are approximately 400 shows during fashion month, and we try to watch most of them. Of these 400 shows, about 80% are excellent. And there is at least one look in EVERY show that gets us excited (in fact, there are usually several).
We also hope it will serve as a primer or focal point of sorts. If you missed everything, we think these are worth a look. And if you saw everything, we think these are worth seeing again.
Mainly, recognitions are here to spark discussion.
After all, we think fashion deserves it. And we hope you do, too.
