The most anticipated fashion event of NYFW is back at the venue of a lifetime! hiTechMODA is producing its second season at National Geographic Encounter, located in the heart of the New York Theatre District, steps from the iconic Shubert Alley. This season is gaining momentum and earning a stellar reputation for innovation. This new iteration will set the gold standard for independent runway shows happening all around town. hiTechMODA is rapidly gaining traction as the show of shows, one you won’t want to miss.
hiTechMODA brings you the best and most talented emerging designers in an unparalleled runway setting that incorporates a multi-disciplinary platform of unique fashions woven with aspects of dance, music, theatrical and visual entertainment against a sensational backdrop that is truly state-of-the-art. hiTechMODA is partnering with National Geographic to promote sustainability, body positivity and fair trade within the fashion community.

This season we will be helping return Christine Miki to good health, who was diagnosed with Stage IIIB breast cancer last June, and is currently undergoing chemo.

The Carol Galvin foundation and Fashion News media comes together to throw a night of fashion with special guest celebrity performances and appearances in support of women battling cancer.
Held at the exclusive and iconic Playboy Club, this official NYFW event will have a little of everything from established designers such as Toronto’s Auneya, whose designs are “elegant silhouettes, known for mixing vintage & intricately embroidered designs with a modern twist for a timeless look.”
Also showing is Faded Cloth by designer Stormy, a brand that blends raw material and superb fit, blurring the lines that define women’s sportswear.
Afterparty show will be by Sho Konishi. We have pop star and anti-bullying icon Meredith O’Connor who will perform her hit songs along with the foundations song “Guardian Angel”.
Special guest appearances by celebrities such as The Wires Felicia Pearson/WWE Super Star CJ Perry AKA Lana & more.

360Fashion Network is putting the wearable tech into hiTechMODA to explore the intersection of diversity and technology. 360Fashion Network will debut their ROBOTIC DRESS clothing on the runway created with the 360Fash Tech “Robotic Dress” Kit. The designers selected in the Robotic Dress Hackathon are Clare Tattersall and Azreal.YM. 360Fashion Network with showcase IOT Clothing created together with Michael Starost’s Laser Dresses and RFactory’s Motion Dress all created with 360Fash Tech Kits technology. Anina Net’s women’s wearable tech will debut on the runway, paired up with hiTechMODA designers: charging wallets, iLLUMINATED JEWELRY, MetaGem Smart Safety Ring and more.
Anina Net is the CEO and founder of 360Fashion Network, a network of fashion professionals using the latest technologies. Anina evolved from a model to a fashion industry pioneer and developed Intel Curie-powered smart gloves showcased on CCTV at Chinese New Year and shape-shifting robot dresses showcased on ABC7News. She is listed as #7 in Top 100 Women in Wearable and Consumer Tech. We are excited to be joining forces with 360Fashion Network for hiTechModa 2019. 360Fashion Network is pioneering the intersection of diversity and technology by empowering fashion designers to create smart garments and accessories. With the showcase of ROBOTIC DRESSES: clothing created with the 360Fash Tech “Robotic Dress” Kit, three outstanding fashion tech designers explore the intersection of mechanical, robotic clothing and fashion. Clare Tattersall, Christian Bruns, and Azreal.YM have created mini collections on the themes of: origami, nature, and music which will be on display at the venue for two days.

FWO editor-in-chief Pablo Starr (@pablo.fwo) will read from his forthcoming fashion-week science-fiction novel RNWY, set during fashion week in the year 2399.
The book (@RNWYUniverse), which is being a called a “female Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” features a supermodel-turned-inventor, and there will be a fun Q & A after the reading after about how we imagine the world we want to live in.
