The Metropolitan International Fashion Week Miami (MMIFW) launched in 2012 as a platform for emerging designers to gain a foothold in the vying fashion industry and has since grown to include more established foreign designers whom are looking to expand into the U.S. market. For every fashion week, the production team behind MMIFW supplies each fashion designer with professional models, professional hair stylists, professional makeup artists, and backstage support, ensuring that the designers have everything they need for a successful show. MMIFW offers additional support to foreign designers by assisting with their entry visas.

Leading up to the to the days of the event, the MMIFW team conducts model castings on behalf of the designer, arranges for pre-event media interviews for designers, and oversees all of the marketing and event preparation. In essence, the Metropolitan International Fashion Week Miami has become a “one-stop-shop” for fashion designers looking to promote themselves and their fashion line.

MMIFW prides itself in helping designers and models achieve their dreams. Several notable achievements of past MMIFW participants include designer Laila Waza (Saudi Arabia). Since being sponsored by MMIFW for an entry visa in 2012, Laila has returned to show at New York Fashion Week in both 2013 and 2014. Designer Yvette Elfawal (United States) has shown in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Kiev in October 2013 after showing her same line at MMIFW the previous April. Maya Swimwear designer Carolina Dinardi first showed at MMIFW 2012, then returned to show in Miami Swim Week 2013. After walking at MMIFW 2012, model Katlyn Thrower appeared later that same year in Vogue China; and model Lauren Chin-Peques walked for Givenchy and appeared in Vogue Italy.
